It seems strange asking you<br />
to think about Christmas<br />
during a heatwave when<br />
it hasn't rained for weeks<br />
and winter is the last thing<br />
on your mind but we are<br />
planning ahead for carers.<br />
We hope you will join in with<br />
The Big Christmas Cheer.<br />
We know there are lots of<br />
people in the region who<br />
look after someone but don't<br />
necessarily see themselves<br />
as a family carer. Carers<br />
Rights Day is one way to<br />
address this and it is also<br />
what The Big Christmas<br />
Cheer is all about.<br />
We want to shout out loud<br />
on behalf of carers so more<br />
people know what it is like to<br />
be a family carer.<br />
We have two things to ask:<br />
• Book us in to speak to a<br />
group you run in the lead<br />
up to Christmas.<br />
• Consider holding an<br />
event to raise money or<br />
donating to our charity<br />
which will help us make a<br />
difference to family carers<br />
in our region.<br />
The Big Christmas Cheer<br />
fundraising packs will be<br />
available in September and<br />
will be packed full of ideas to<br />
get you started.<br />
From a get-together with<br />
coffee and Christmas cake<br />
to a book club with mulled<br />
wine and mince pies, from<br />
donating your Secret Santa<br />
gift money to donating<br />
Christmas card money like<br />
Kim. Every donation helps<br />
us to help carers and their<br />
families by providing them<br />
with the best possible care<br />
and support.<br />
Take part in The Big<br />
Christmas Cheer, get into<br />
the Christmas spirit and help<br />
us shout louder for family<br />
carers at Christmas and<br />
beyond. You can help us<br />
make a difference. It has the<br />
power to change lives.<br />

Instead of sending Christmas cards<br />
this year, Kim is going to donate her<br />
Christmas card money to Carers Trust<br />
Cambridgeshire, Peterborough Norfolk. Her<br />
money will go towards the support we give<br />
to schools to help identify young carers<br />
and ensure that we can provide help and<br />
support to them in their caring role.<br />
Rylan plans to throw a Christmas Party<br />
for young carers. He hopes to gain<br />
sponsorship from local businesses to<br />
support the event and to raise some money<br />
to help young carers in our region.<br />
