Over fifty years ago, a <strong>GE</strong> lab chemist, Daniel<br />
Fox, discovered LEXAN ® polycarbonate resin<br />
– <strong>GE</strong> Advanced Materials – Plastics’ (<strong>GE</strong>AM) flagship<br />
polymer which has revolutionized our lives.<br />
<strong>GE</strong>AM Plastics now produces 1 million tonnes of LEXAN ® resin<br />
each year, serving customers around the world – with diverse<br />
applications such as astronaut helmets, mobile phones, DVDs,<br />
bullet-resistant shielding, water bottles, headlights – available<br />
in a variety of finishes and over 35,000 colours. <strong>GE</strong>AM Plastics is<br />
a global manufacturer and marketer of a wide range of quality<br />
engineering materials and services. In Australia, <strong>GE</strong> Plastics has<br />
been manufacturing high performance polymers since 1982.<br />
In 2002, <strong>GE</strong>AM Plastics acquired LNP. Through various<br />
combinations of 30 base polymers and 16 different fillers<br />
and reinforcements, LNP can tailor products to specific<br />

LUBRICOMP ® , LUBRILOY ® , VERTON ® , STAT-KON ® and KONDUIT ® .<br />
