Safe Routes to School volunteers are needed. SRTS youth<br />
walk/bike with adult volunteers to elementary schools in Fairmont on<br />
Tuesday mornings beginning <strong>September</strong> 11 through October 30. For<br />
more information on this program and routes/Safe Zone Drop off locations,<br />
contact CER at 235-3141.<br />
Free Adult Basic Education classes in Fairmont begin the<br />
week of <strong>September</strong> 10. Adults can prepare to take their GED Exam (if no<br />
diploma received), improve writing and math skills and more. Distance<br />
Learning classes which can be done in your own home are also available<br />
to study for your GED. Free Classes to learn English are held on Tuesday<br />
evenings and Wednesday afternoons (1-3 pm.) Please contact or stop in<br />
at CER (507-235-3141/enter through Door 15A) for more details.<br />
CER staff are busy working on activities for the upcoming fall and<br />
winter catalog which will offer opportunities. Suggestions for new activities<br />
and instructors are always welcomed!<br />
