Academic WorldQuest Registration Open<br />
Academic WorldQuest is an academic competition<br />
held each year and open to all high schools in<br />
Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Each school can<br />
send up to two teams of five students to compete,<br />
and questions are drawn from international affairs,<br />
current events, geography, history and culture. The<br />
winning team receives a paid trip to Washington D.C.<br />
in the spring to compete in a national competition<br />
against 40+ other teams.<br />
The early registration deadline is October 31, and the<br />
final deadline is December 15. More information<br />

Bring Japanese Culture into Your Classroom<br />
The Japanese Outreach Initiative is a program that<br />
aims to increase multicultural understanding by<br />
bringing free Japanese cultural workshops to<br />
classrooms, organizations, and businesses.<br />
Workshops exist for all grade and age levels and<br />
include origami, calligraphy, Japanese conversation,<br />

The Big Table: The World’s Biggest Potluck<br />
Dinner<br />
Sunday, <strong>September</strong> 16, 5:00-7:00 p.m.<br />
Iroquois Park<br />
Sit down to dinner with 3,500 friends. Magical<br />
things happened when people gather for dinner.<br />
They do more than eat – the connect. And<br />
sometimes, they even set records. This what we’re<br />
planning with The Big Table. If we reach our goal of<br />
3,500 attendees, we’ll put Louisville on the map for<br />
holding the world’s largest potluck. Join the Global<br />
Human Project for this event. For more information<br />

The Fireside Chat and Welcome Reception will<br />
feature Dr. Neeli Bendapudi, President, University of<br />
Louisville, and the Honorable Gerald Neal, Kentucky<br />
State Senator. Dr. Neeli Bendapudi, was selected as<br />
the 18 th President of the University of Louisville<br />
after a months-long search that drew more than 50<br />
candidates from across the nation. President<br />
Bendapudi will discuss her vision for the university,<br />
and its relationship with west Louisville and the<br />
African American community.<br />
The Forum Series is sponsored by the UofL College<br />
of Arts and Sciences, Office of the Dean, Office for<br />
International, Diversity and Engagement Programs<br />
and The Yearlings Club, Inc. Admission is free and<br />
