Emily graduated from TCU and Brite Divinity School.
Go Frogs! She serves as staff chaplain at Texas
Health Harris Methodist Hospital and lives in Fort
Worth with her spouse David and their pup Pippin.
When she grows up, Emily would like to be a master
gardener.

Rev. Thomas McCracken
Thomas is an alumnus of Brite Divinity School
and resident of Fort Worth. He is a new
Director of Advancement at Brite, and he has
served as Senior Minister in two Christian
(Disciples of Christ) churches in Texas and
Tennessee. Thomas is also an attorney, with a
background in estate planning and charitable
giving. He is married to Lea, Associate Chaplain
for Disciples and Church Relations at TCU, and
they are the parents of three children in the
Fort Worth ISD.

We are also excited for our upcoming event"Painting with a Twist (the "twist" is snacks)" on
September 12 at 6pm. Hope you can join us for a fun time of painting a fellowshiping together.
We continue to vision about revamping the breakfast club and how it will look and feel- more
information and dates soon. Thank you for being a part of our faith journey and helping us
grow!

privileged to share in the work of caring for each
other’s souls. So if you come to worship with a heavy
Spirit know that you’re in good hands, God’s hands.
** On Sunday, September 9 we will dedicate our new
sanctuary in worship. As our music reflects who we
are, many different hands will initiate the ivories that
morning. The “key” is open engagement and variety,
so if you play please join those already volunteering
that Sunday by arranging with me something
appropriate to play.

We are excited with the Reformation
theme led by keynote speakers Doug
Skinner and Chris Wilson. The second
workshop on Saturday AM should be
special. It will be a panel discussion
for all attendees in the Assembly
Hall with Doug and Chris joined by
Newell Williams and Brian Fenwick,
moderated again by Dave Romack,
our First Vice President with a title of
"Flexible Reformation."
This year, Christian Church
Foundation(CCF) vice-president, Bobby
Hawley will be providing a workshop
on financial planning, with particular
emphasis on accumulated resources
and how to set up charitable gift
annuities like ones several of us in this
region have with CCF.

What to Bring to Lake Brownwood
Bed linens (twin bed sheets, sleeping
bag, pillow and case), towels, personal
toilet articles, Bible, checkbook,
flashlight, informal clothes (no ties,
dress shirts or suits, please), house
shoes or flip flops, dominoes, playing
cards, chess sets and any other game
equipment.

We have raised $31,420 towards the Habitat Build- getting us closer to being the primary donor for the
house build! The hope is to raise a total of $85,000 and we are not too far away from out goal. If you
are feeling inspired to give money you can do so by going to the Trinity Habitat for Humanity website
and donating directly- be sure to let them know that it is for the Disciples Build.

give my daughters room to grow and a backyard
to play in. We will have the ability to save money
for our children’s future and participate in
activities that we weren’t able to before.
We moved to the United States from Afghanistan

place high value on our culture and family.

GOLF TOURNAMENT

We have raised an estimated $21,000 on the Golf tournament
alone and we still have more to raise! Wanting to be involved
but aren’t a golfer? Don’t worry, you can volunteer to help with
the event by emailing Megan Peglar, megan.ammann@gmail.
com, with your willingness to help out. There are lots of different
volunteer opportunities and there is something for everyone.
Golf Player Payment Information:
The cost per player is $120 or $480 for a foursome (this is the
