I'LL READ A POST THAT I’LL RE-POST HERE:
ROB LANEY
To All Music Majors…..
“If we were in a medical school, and you were here
as a med student practicing appendectomies, you’d
take your work very seriously because you would
imagine that some night at 2am, someone is going to
waltz into your ER and you are going to have to save
their life. Well, my friends, someday at 8pm someone
is going to waltz into your concert hall and bring you
a mind that is confused, a heart that is overwhelmed,
a soul that is weary.
Whether they go out whole again will depend
on how well you do your craft….” - Karl Paulnack
(Director of Music Division and member of the piano
faculty, Boston University)
Let’s think about this is a worship context. We are
privileged to share in the work of caring for each
other’s souls. So if you come to worship with a heavy
Spirit know that you’re in good hands, God’s hands.
** On Sunday, September 9 we will dedicate our new
sanctuary in worship. As our music reflects who we
are, many different hands will initiate the ivories that
morning. The “key” is open engagement and variety,
so if you play please join those already volunteering
that Sunday by arranging with me something
appropriate to play.
We have raised $31,420 towards the Habitat Build- getting us closer to being the primary donor for the
house build! The hope is to raise a total of $85,000 and we are not too far away from out goal. If you
are feeling inspired to give money you can do so by going to the Trinity Habitat for Humanity website
and donating directly- be sure to let them know that it is for the Disciples Build.
The Habitat House Family:
The Ghafar Family
"We currently live in a one bedroom apartment
that no longer fits our family. Owning a home will
give my daughters room to grow and a backyard
to play in. We will have the ability to save money
for our children’s future and participate in
activities that we weren’t able to before.
We moved to the United States from Afghanistan
in 2014 to provide a safe home for our family. We
place high value on our culture and family.
We are excited to build our home and make our dream of becoming homeowners true. We look
forward to being apart of the community and feeling like we are truly at home."
HABITAT BUILD T-SHIRTS
