SOLEIL AUGUST 2ND ISSUE

his second issue drove me
to get people to come out
and say things they weren’t
comfortable with. I thought about
confessions over and over again.
Going into 2018 was unexpected
and confusing. Maybe light was
shed on me about certain things.
There were things I had to come
to terms with. Things that had to
be spoken about openly even
though looking back it literally
tore me apart.
Making a magazine isn’t about
being the best Editor out there.
I’m flawed and that’s something
a lot of us don’t want to realize.
Soleil is a constant in my mind. I
wrote on Instagram a while ago
about how I’ve never felt like I
deserved what I’ve been given.
A lot of people ask me about my
name and where I come from. A
lot of times I shake people off because
it’s not something I always
want to talk about. I’ll confess
that I’m adopted, maybe some
don’t know that but I’ve always
known it. From the day I left the
orphanage I never looked back.

Confession Booth is a creation
made from frustration with society
and how the world attempts
to mold us in Michaelangelos
when we want to be Van Goghs.
So many of us have told lies
and continue to not confront our
fears. If life is so bright why do all
of us hide in the dark?
