What is TEFL?
Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) involves teaching the English language
to non-native speakers. This can take place in a variety of settings, including schools,
language centres, online lessons and home tutoring. You can also travel abroad to
another country to teach English; making TEFL your passport to earning money overseas.
At least 1.6 billion people are learning English right now, and this number is increasing

In order to become a TEFL teacher, you need to be properly qualified. The minimum
standard for most entry-level teaching positions is a 120 hour TEFL certificate.

All interns go through a 7-day orientation prior

week and relax on the beach on your days off
when you take on a TEFL internship in Thailand.
Upon arrival in Bangkok, you and your fellow TEFL
teachers will be whisked off to an unforgettable
3-day orientation in one of the most vibrant and
exciting cities in the world. During your internship,
you’ll get to teach primary or secondary school
students between the ages of 3 and 17. Your
lessons will focus on developing the spoken and
written proficiency of the students.

Teaching English in Myanmar (formerly known
as Burma) will give you a unique insight into a
fascinating place where centuries-old traditions
meet rapid transformation. This country has
something to appeal to all tastes, from the
beautiful beaches in the Bay of Bengal to
delectable street food, wineries, scenic forest
hikes and ornate temples.
Your teaching placement will involve around
25 hours in the classroom each week, with two
consecutive days off. You’ll also be given up

Teach English in one of China’s most bustling
international cities. Upon landing in China, you’ll
be picked up at the airport and begin a 3-5
day orientation that includes daily workshops,
excursions, cultural seminars and 24/7 support
from our dedicated Shanghai team.
You can expect to work around 40 hours a
week during your internship. 25 hours will
be dedicated to in-class teaching, while the
remaining 15 hours you can use for grading,
lesson planning and socialising with other
staff. Working days are spread over Monday to
Sunday, with two days off midweek. Classes are
