When and why did you start running? I ran mostly as cross training for dance when I was younger and always enjoyed it, but it wasn’t until freshman year that I started consistently running. I joined the team mostly to meet people and get involved in something at Loyola. My three older brothers all ran cross country and track, so my parents encouraged that and I’ve been running ever since. Do you have any superstitions before, during or after a meet? Before a meet, I usually get pretty nervous, so I always have to listen to music and The team always talks and prays together right before we race, which really helps with nerves. What’s one thing people don’t know about you? I’m double jointed. What’s one item on your bucket list? I’d love to travel to all seven continents. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? I’d definitely go to Thailand. What’s the best part about being a Loyola athlete? My favorite part about being a Loyola athlete is the support from the whole school as well as the size of the girls’ cross country team - it is really nice to have. What’s the best advice you’ve gotten and who’s it from? It’s simple, but my dad always reminds me to focus on the big picture and not stress about the little things in life. If you could play another sport, what would it be and why? PHOTO SUBMITTED If I didn’t run, I would love to play lacrosse What’s been your favorite moment at Loyola? The state football game last year was a great experience as it was really cool to see such a large portion of the student body supporting the team. If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why? If I could have a superpower, I would pick teleportation because I think it would be nice to easily travel anywhere.
