workshops which will be available during the first 2 weeks <strong>of</strong> the academic semester. Workshop times and<br />

locations will be posted by the <strong>Student</strong> Life staff and sent via college email. Until all three workshops are<br />

complete, first-year <strong>Student</strong>s will not have the privilege <strong>of</strong> hosting guests. <strong>Student</strong>s who transfer to Fisher College<br />

from another institution will obtain the guest privileges associated with the class year in which they are entering.<br />

Overnight guests are allowed 3 nights within a seven-day period (the week runs Monday-Sunday), A resident may<br />

only have two overnight guests at a time. A guest is allowed a maximum <strong>of</strong> three nights per week on campus.<br />

Therefore, if a guest signs in under resident A for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday they have reached their<br />

maximum stay for that week. They cannot sign in overnight on campus again until the following Monday even with<br />

a different host. Overnight guests may also stay only three consecutive nights. Therefore, if they stay as an<br />

overnight guest on Friday, Saturday and Sunday they cannot stay again on Monday even though it begins a new<br />

week. The guest would not be eligible to sign in again until Tuesday. Additional nights may be approved by the<br />

Director <strong>of</strong> Housing and Residential Life.<br />

There is a limit to the number <strong>of</strong> guests allowed in any room at any one time. A maximum <strong>of</strong> 3 guests are allowed<br />

for a single room, and a maximum <strong>of</strong> 4 guests total in a double, triple or quad room.<br />

Forms must be signed by the Resident Director by 11:00 pm and turned in to Public Safety the day <strong>of</strong> the guest’s<br />

arrival. Overnight forms submitted after 11:00 pm will not be approved. Overnight guest sheets are available at the<br />

Public Safety Desk or in the Housing Office. Any form filled out incompletely will be denied. All guests must leave<br />

proper photo ID (driver’s license, military ID, passport, state ID or Government I.D) with Public Safety. Non Fisher<br />

College ID’s are not accepted.<br />

All overnight guests must be at least 16 years <strong>of</strong> age. Immediate family (sibling) may be permitted with the<br />

advance permission <strong>of</strong> the Director <strong>of</strong> Housing and Residential Life. Requests for immediate family members to be<br />

an overnight guest must be emailed to the Director <strong>of</strong> Housing and Residential Life, at housing@fisher.edu, by 4pm<br />

the day prior to the arrival <strong>of</strong> the family member, or if the date <strong>of</strong> arrival falls on a Sunday or Monday by 4pm on<br />

the Friday prior.<br />

All guests must comply with the rules and regulations outlined in the <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong>.<br />

Failure by resident or guest to comply with these guidelines or abuse <strong>of</strong> the system can result in the loss <strong>of</strong> guest<br />

privileges for the resident and/or all residents in their residence hall. Guests may also be banned from visiting the<br />

college if they fail to comply with the rules. Residential Life staff can also ask a guest to leave the premises for noncompliance<br />

with policies or inappropriate behavior and void any prior permission given regarding visitation.<br />

Please note that absolutely no overnight guests will be allowed during the first 2 weeks <strong>of</strong> each academic semester<br />

and during final exam periods.<br />

Public Safety and Housing staff reserves the right to deny access to any guest who exhibits inappropriate behavior,<br />

refuses to abide by current guest policies, or is deemed a danger to himself/herself or others.<br />

Health and Safety<br />

Disease<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s will report immediately to the College Nurse any infectious or contagious disease occurring within the<br />

residence halls. Any <strong>Student</strong> found infectious or contagious must abide by directives given by the College Health<br />

Services staff and/or public health <strong>of</strong>ficials to avoid spreading infection or disease.<br />

Personal Safety<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s are strongly encouraged to be vigilant <strong>of</strong> their safety and keep their doors locked at all times. Please<br />

ensure that you check the identity <strong>of</strong> your guest before you open the door. Also, <strong>Student</strong>s are only allowed to let<br />

themselves or their guest into a residence hall. Please do not open the hall door for other people’s guests or<br />

strangers. Do not allow them to piggyback in with you and do not prop open doors. Please be aware that <strong>Student</strong>s<br />
