Anton Skrapits<br />
Anton “Tony” Skrapits,<br />
77, of New Lenox, died<br />
Aug. 24 after a long illness.<br />
Tony is survived by his<br />
wife, Judy; children Tony,<br />
Teresa, Tracy, Kim, John;<br />
eight grandchildren; and<br />
many close friends and relatives.<br />
He immigrated from<br />
Hungary during the 1956<br />
conflict and served as a Red<br />
Cross interpreter, speaking<br />
five languages as he assisted<br />
in refugee placement. He<br />
was a proud American and<br />
devout Catholic. Tony was<br />
a successful businessman<br />
and spent a long career as<br />
a Director of Automotive<br />
Services for many dealerships.<br />
Tony was most proud<br />
of his family and his home.<br />
He loved to garden, golf<br />
and serve his community.<br />
Family received friends at<br />
Kurtz Memorial Chapel.<br />
Mass took place at St. Jude<br />
Church. Interment was private.<br />
