The Fall Community Garage Sale (October 20 th ) is adding yet another 

enhancement for a trial run. We are going to utilize the clubhouse during 

the garage sale and allow residents in the community the opportunity 

to sell products from their home based businesses by renting a table. 

You will also be able to use the tables during the Neighborhood Preview 

Sale (October 19 th ) with extended hours. If you are interested in 

renting a table or would like more information, please send an email 

to Events@graysonlakesliving.com. Also, don’t forget to sign up for the 

garage sale by October 15 th . 

Food trucks will be present at the Clubhouse for both the Neighborhood 

Preview Sale and during the regular sale for both residents and visitors. 

Araguaney Food Truck, which is run by one of our very own residents, 

has graciously offered to be the food truck for the Neighborhood Preview 

Sale and as an added bonus, also offered to give 10% of sales back 

to the community! Feel free to stop out and support your neighbors!

ARCHITECTURAL GUIDELINES 

To help preserve the beauty of our neighborhood and to protect property 

values, Grayson Lakes’ Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions establishes 

Architectural Guidelines that must be followed for all improvements, 

alterations or modifications to the exterior of your property. 

To keep the Architectural Guidelines current and to include State 

mandated changes, the Architectural Review Committee continues to 

spend many hours refreshing the guidelines and consolidating several 

supplemental filings into one new document.

SAFETY CORNER 

Please ensure that you always take the following steps to protect your 

property: 

● Lock all entrances to your residence and vehicles, including 

windows and doors leading to the garage. 

● Park your vehicles in your garage if you can. 

● Secure all valuables, including guns, laptops and tablets. If items 

can’t be secured ensure that the items are at least hidden from view, 

both from windows and doors in your residence and in your vehicles. 

● Record the serial number and take pictures if possible, of all 

valuables. 

● Set your alarm, even if you are in the house and don’t intend 

to leave for a while. 

Report any suspicious activity to the Ft. Bend County Sheriff’s Office

SIDEWALK REPAIRS 

Fort Bend County require the property owners be responsible for maintenance 

and repair of sidewalks within their property boundaries. All 

sidewalks in the common areas are in the process of being repaired. 

Grayson Lakes HOA is referencing American with Disabilities Act guidelines 

as the standard for our community sidewalks. Below is an excerpt 

from How to Remove Sidewalk Trip Hazards on a Tight Budget (Gary 

Beneduci - January 2010) discussing these standards: www.ada.gov/ 

reg3a.html#Anchor-42424. 

The U.S. Department of Justice uses the Americans with Disabilities 

Act (ADA) as the standard for public sidewalk accessibility and safety. 

In the code of federal regulations (28 CFR Part 36), the ADA Standards 

for Accessible Design specifies a trip hazard as any vertical height of 

¼ inch or more. The code also specifies slope standards for vertical 

height differentials.

a 1:8 to 1:10 slope for vertical heights of up to 3 inches 

Crest Management will include an assessment of sidewalks as part of 

the weekly inspections of our neighborhood. Identified deficiencies 

will be brought to the attention of the homeowner. 

GRAYSON LAKES COMMUNITY POOL GUIDELINES 

The Grayson Lakes Community Pool is open between March 1 st and 

October 31 st to all residents and their guests from the hours of 6 

AM to 10 PM Tuesday through Sunday. Note that the pool is closed 

for heavy cleaning on Mondays with the exception of Memorial Day 

and Labor Day. Chemical levels are high on Mondays so the pool 

is closed for your safety. 

GRAYSON LAKES POOL RULES HIGHLIGHTS: 

• Residents are allowed 4 guests per household and guests are to 

be accompanied by a resident 18 or older. 

• All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult 

(18 or older). 

• No food, drinks or gum are allowed in the pool. 

• No pets are allowed in the pool area. 

• Furniture does not belong in the pool and can cause damage to 

the pool and the furniture itself if misused. 

• The pool and pool area are cleaned twice a week. Please help 

maintain the facilities so that it can be enjoyed by all our residents. 

A pool access card is required to enter the pool. If you do not have a

MONTHLY BOARD MEETINGS 

The monthly HOA Board meeting is held the third Wednesday of each 

month. ARC meetings are held the second Thursday each month. Both 

meetings start at 6:30 PM and are held at the Grayson Lakes Clubhouse. 


GRAYSON LAKES BOARD MEETINGS OPEN TO ALL 

Meetings of the Grayson Lakes Board of Directors are held the third 

Wednesday of every month except September. The meetings are held 

in the Grayson Lakes Clubhouse and start at 6:30 PM. The agenda for 

the upcoming meeting will be posted on the Clubhouse door no later 

than 72 hours prior to the meeting. Meeting notices will also be emailed 

to residents who have provided an email address to the Association. 

If you would like to be included on that list, contact Karen Janczak at

Notice of a canceled or rescheduled meeting will be posted on the 

Clubhouse door no later than 6:30 PM of the regularly scheduled day. 

Residents wishing to observe need only show up. Residents wishing 

to speak are asked to inform the Management Company at Karen.

agenda. Please do this no later than 8 days before the meeting since 

agendas are prepared a week in advance. If you will indicate the nature 

of your business beforehand, it will give the Management Company 

and your Board a chance to prepare for questions that might come up. 

Please be advised, it is your Board’s practice to limit initial comments 

from residents to 5 minutes, so plan accordingly.

Please be respectful of community grounds and neighbors’ yards. If 

your pet poops during your walk, be prepared to scoop and trash. 

Come with a scooper and a recycled grocery bag or anything else. It 

may not be the most fabulous way to walk your pet, but it does show 

your respect for every homeowner and our beautiful community. 

PLEASE NOTE - PETS ON LEASHES 

It is the law in Fort Bend County that all pets must be vaccinated for rabies, 

registered and restrained. All animals, when outside of an owner’s means of 

restraint (i.e., in a fenced back yard), must be on a leash. For the safety of all 

residents, please use all precautions with your pets and keep them on 

leashes when walking pets in the community EVEN IF YOU FEEL YOUR PET 

IS HARMLESS. If you see ANY animal roaming freely in the neighborhood, immediately 

call Animal Control at 281-342-1512. Even if you recognize the animal, be 

very careful approaching it, as you do not know how it will react; if you can safely 

retrieve the animal, then call the owner. Otherwise, Animal Control is your best 

and safest option. 

FORT BEND COUNTY “LEASH LAW” 

Animal control authorities are permitted to enter your Property to patrol and 

remove pets. Pets must be registered, licensed and inoculated as required by law. 

As a dog owner, you are responsible for the control of your dog. If your dog is 

one that ‘makes objectionable noise,’ you must make every effort to respect 

your Neighbor’s right to their ‘peace and quiet.’ 

When your dog is not in your yard, it is imperative that you keep your dog on a 

leash at all times. While your dog is friendly to you and your family, imagine the 

consequences if it were to harm someone while it was ‘roaming free.’ 

Please respect other resident’s right to walk the common area ground without 

fear of attack from an unleashed dog. 

Laws are written to ensure that owned animals are confined to their property 

or kept on a leash to free a community of unrestrained and free-roaming 

animals. Although most dog bites occur on the property where the dog 

lives, unrestrained or free-roaming dogs do pose a substantial threat to 

the public. In addition, unrestrained animals are at increased risk of being 

bitten by rabies infected wildlife. Enforcement of restraint laws is essential 

in enhancing the animal control program’s efforts to reduce the risk of rabies 

in our community. 


LICENSING OF DOGS AND CATS 

The primary benefit of licensing animals is identification, 

should that animal become lost. Licensing also: 

• Ensures that rabies vaccination are current. 

• Allows for quick identification in case of a bite incident. 

• Provides revenue to offset the administration costs of the 

animal control program. 

VACCINATION 

Rabies vaccinations are a prerequisite for licensing dogs and cats because 

they are an important control measure for the public health threat of rabies. 

In addition to protecting pets, rabies vaccinations provide a barrier between 

infected wild animals and humans.

Halloween Safety Tips 

Walk Safely: Cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and 

crosswalks. Look left, right and left again when crossing and keep 

looking as you cross. Put electronic devices down and keep heads 

up and walk, don’t run, across the street. Teach children to make eye 

contact with drivers before crossing in front of them. Always walk on 

sidewalks or paths. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing traffic as 

far to the left as possible. Children should walk on direct routes with 

the fewest street crossings. Watch for cars that are turning or backing 

up. Teach children to never dart out into the street or cross between 

parked cars. 

Trick or Treat with an Adult: Children under the age of 12 should 

not be alone at night without adult supervision. If kids are mature 

enough to be out without supervision, they should stick to familiar 

areas that are well lit and trick-or-treat in groups. 

Keep Costumes Both Creative and Safe: Decorate costumes and bags 

with reflective tape or stickers and if possible, choose light colors. 

Choose face paint and makeup whenever possible instead of masks, 

which can obstruct a child’s vision. Have kids carry glow sticks or 

flashlights to help them see and be seen by drivers. When selecting a 

costume, make sure it is the right size to prevent trips and falls. 

Drive Extra Safely on Halloween: Slow down and be especially alert 

in residential neighborhoods. Children are excited on Halloween and 

may move in unpredictable ways. Take extra time to look for kids at 

intersections, on medians and on curbs. Enter and exit driveways and 

alleys slowly and carefully. Eliminate any distractions inside your car so 

you can concentrate on the road and your surroundings. Drive slowly, 

anticipate heavy pedestrian traffic and turn your headlights on earlier 

in the day to spot children from greater distances. Popular trick-ortreating 

hours are 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM so be especially alert for kids 

during those hours.

NOTTINGHAM COUNTRY GARDEN CLUB 

On Thursday, October 4, 2018, Nottingham 

Country Garden Club (NCGC) will feature Linda 

Gay with a presentation on “Bulbs Naturalized 

for the Gulf Coast.” Linda is a horticulturist and 

gardener by trade. She worked at the Mercer 

Botanic Garden for 26 years and the last 11 years 

served as Director of the Garden. Additionally, 

Linda has worked with McGovern Centennial 

Gardens, The Arbor Gate Nursery in Tomball and 

teaches horticulture classes at HCC. 

Meet and greet time begins at 9:30 AM and the 

program will start at 10 AM, followed by the 

NCGC meeting. Please join us at the Municipal 

Utility Building #81 at 805 Hidden Canyon Drive 

in Katy 77450. For more information please see

people interested in gardening and gardening 

related areas from West Houston and the Katy 

area. You do not have to live in Nottingham

NCGC is a non-profit organization affiliated with 

the Houston Federation of Garden Clubs, the Texas 

Garden Clubs and the National Federation of Garden 

Clubs. The purpose of the club is to promote 

beautification in the community, support local and 

national education and charitable organizations 

and educate the community about our environment. 

Donations from the NCGC are funded by our 

annual Spring Sale and projects that vary each year. 

CINCO RANCH LADIES CLUB 

The Cinco Ranch Ladies Club (CRLC) is a 501(c)3 

providing residents in Katy and surrounding 

cities with activities, both social and charitable. 

We designate charities each year as recipients for 

our fundraising events. We typically meet each 

month as an entire club at The Golf Club at Cinco 

Ranch at 7 PM to partake in themed events such 

as a Chili Cook Off, Halloween Party, Craft Fairs, 

Silent Auction, Line Dancing, Self--Defense Class, 

Favorite Things Exchange and Luau. 

We also offer about 22 sub-clubs that each 

meet once a month on a small scale in residents 

homes, businesses, restaurants and walking 

trails. A few special interest clubs are Book, 

Business Network, Bunco, Coffee, Craft, Dining, 

Lunch, Ladies Night Out, Movie, Garden, Game 

Night, Meditation, Wine, Walking and more. $35 

annual dues for all the social and charitable fun.

BAYOU CITY ART FESTIVAL DOWNTOWN 

The Art Colony Association, Inc. (ACA) will celebrate 

47 years of fine art and giving back to 

local non-profits as it spotlights 300 artists at 

Bayou City Art Festival in Downtown Houston, 

Saturday and Sunday, October 13-14, 2018, 10 

AM - 6 PM at 901 Bagby Street. Cost $12 online 

and $15 at the gate. 

The sophisticated gallery will transform the 

streets of Downtown into artistic avenues 

bursting with colors and culture. As one of the 

top outdoor fine art festivals in the U.S., the 

weekend festival will provide guests with the 

opportunity to see and purchase unique, custom 

art under the iconic Houston skyline. Bayou 

City Art Festival Downtown will benefit local 

non-profits and feature live music in front of City 

Hall and throughout the festival along with entertainment, 

beverage stations, food trucks and 

much more for patrons to enjoy. In the Children’s 

Creative Zone, the festival’s non-profit partners 

will host art activities for all ages and include a 

cool interactive place to hang out. 

Celebrating 47 years since the founding of the 

Westheimer Art Festival, now known as Bayou 

City Art Festival, ACA has provided a venue for 

over 20,000 artists to showcase their work to 

thousands of art lovers from all over the world. 

Every year, a new jury selects participating 

artists, some new and some returning. This 

helps create a fresh and different festival year 

after year.

of the City of Houston about who we are and asking 

them to embrace our cultures in a friendly and festive

Texas Renaissance Festival - Weekends thru November

Mission, TX 77363. Admission varies. The Texas Renaissance 

Festival is an interactive theme park that 

embraces different eras, including the 16 th century 

and beyond. The 55-acre theater is filled with live entertainment, 

food and shops. The enchanted 55-acre 

village comes to life as all of Europe comes to pay 

homage to the King and Queen with Eight Themed 

Weekends. Hundreds of costumed performers are 

showcased in over 200 daily performances. Visitors 

meander along shaded cobblestone walkways visiting 

almost 400 shoppes overflowing with unique arts 

and crafts of offering delicious foods and beverages. 

All ages will be amused by the games of skill and 

human-powered rides. 

6 th Annual Fall Fest - Fridays, 12-7 PM, North Shore 

Rotary Pavilion, 14350 1/2 Wallisville Rd., Houston, 

TX 77049. Part food festival, part music festival, 

CTC’s “Fall Fest” is an excellent opportunity to bring 

a taste of Chicago to Houston area residents. This 

one-day, Chicago, cultural festival features several 

food vendors, who offer Chicago culinary classics. 

Additionally, the event features DJs who will spin a 

variety of music types including: House music, which 

is an internationally known style of music born in 

Chicago which gave birth to techno and EDM. Also, 

the event hosts a dance lounge where attendees 

can learn Stepping which is a nationally known 

dance style born in Chicago and similar to this area’s

77002. The artistic duo, Havel Ruck Projects, 

made up of local artists, Dan Havel and Dean 

Ruck, transformed a previously abandoned 

house into an interactive temporary public 

sculpture. Sourced from Cherry House Moving 

Company, the 1940s-era house was originally 

located in Santa Fe, Texas. After moving the 

home to Sam Houston Park in April, Havel 

and Ruck stripped the structure’s interior and 

exterior using drill saws and other tools. They 

cut circular holes into the walls and filled them 

with PVC pipe to create a “Swiss cheese” or 

“lace” appearance and collaged the interior 

walls with vintage images sourced from family, 

friends and local resale shops representing 

the city’s people, places and past.

OCTOBER IS 

BREAST CANCER 

AWARENESS MONTH 

The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) program is 

dedicated to increasing awareness about the importance of the early 

detection of breast cancer through a nationwide campaign. NBCAM 

started as a weeklong campaign in 1985 with 2 founding members. 

Today the American Cancer Society is one of many national public 

service organizations, professional associations and government agencies 

that form the NBCAM Board of Sponsors. During October, which is 

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the member organizations 

of the Board of Sponsors join forces to spread the message that early 

detection of breast cancer followed by prompt treatment saves lives. 

The American Cancer Society recommends early detections. Women 

age 40 and older should have a screening mammogram every year 

and should continue to do so for as long as they are in good health. 

The third Friday in October each year is National Mammography Day, 

first proclaimed by President Clinton in 1993. On this day or throughout 

the month, women are encouraged to make a mammography 

appointment.

3 STEPS TO EARLY DETECTION 

One in eight women are diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. 

However, with early detection and treatment, you can greatly 

improve your chance of survival. 

Early detection means finding the cancer before it spreads to other 

parts of the body. Although breast cancer cannot be completely 

prevented, early detection provides the greatest possibility of 

successful treatment. By following these three steps, you will help 

increase your chance of detecting cancer early. 

Changes to look for include: 

• A lump or thickening in or near the breast or in the underarm area 

• A change in the size or shape of the breast 

• Dimpling or puckering in the skin of the breast 

• A nipple turned inward into the breast 

• Discharge (fluid) from the nipple 

• Scaly, red or swollen skin on the breast, nipple or areola (the dark 

area of skin at the center of the breast) 

You should see your health care provider about any of these 

symptoms. Often these symptoms are not due to cancer, but if 

you notice any changes in your body, tell your health care provider 

immediately so that the problems can be diagnosed and treated. 

2. WELL-WOMAN EXAM 

It is recommended that women visit their family physician or gynecologist 

each year for an annual Well-Woman Exam. In addition 

to a routine pelvic exam and pap smear, the doctor may perform 

a brief breast exam to check for abnormalities. The Well-Woman 

Exam is a great opportunity for you to discuss with your health care 

provider any questions or concerns you have regarding your breast 

health. For example, your doctor may help you to determine the 

most appropriate frequency for your early detection steps. 

3. MAMMOGRAM 

In its early stages, breast cancer doesn’t usually cause symptoms. 

NBCF recommends that women ages 40 and older get a mammogram 

every year. A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast. It is a safe 

way to detect cancerous tumors and other abnormal breast conditions 

and women who have screening mammograms have a lower 

chance of dying from breast cancer than women who do not have 

screening mammograms. Mammograms can detect cancer or other 

problems before a lump becomes large enough to be detectable 

to the touch. They provide an effective way to find breast cancer 

in its early stages when treatment is usually the most successful. 

Mammograms are considered safe, quick and relatively painless.

Breast self-awareness can help you become familiar with how your 

breasts normally look and feel. Knowing this will help you identify 

any changes in your breasts that should be reported to your health 

care professional promptly. If you find a lump, schedule an appointment 

with your doctor, but don’t panic - 8 out of 10 lumps are not 

cancerous.

their hands at solving a series of clues to determine the whereabouts of 

Spiderman, who is missing. Participants will work in teams to solve the 

riddle. The team that solves the puzzle in the quickest time wins the event. 

Prizes will be awarded to the winning team. Refreshments and materials

How to Carve 

A Pumpkin 

When it comes to pumpkin carving, the idea is to have fun. We’ve 

got tips on carving the best pumpkin, as well as how to pick a good 

pumpkin for carving! 

HOW TO PICK A GOOD PUMPKIN FOR CARVING 

Look for one that is a little misshapen. Inspect it for soft spots (especially 

the end opposite the stem). Reject a pumpkin that has soft spots, they 

will cause it to deteriorate quickly. Remember, your pumpkin doesn’t 

have to sit on its base, in fact, that’s often its weakest spot. 

Let the pumpkin guide the shape of the face: An elongated pumpkin 

should have an elongated face. A fat and happy pumpkin should have 

a fat and happy face. 

HOLLOW OR WHOLE? 

There are two reasons for hollowing: (1) If the inside is going to be 

exposed (through the mouth, etc.), it looks better if it is hollowed 

neatly. (2) If you plan to light the pumpkin from the inside, it must be 

hollow. You can hollow it out from a hole in the back instead of the top, 

so that the look of the face isn’t affected. If you’re illuminating with a 

candle, you need to hollow from the top to allow the heat and smoke 

to escape. 

MAKE A FACE 

To achieve a three-dimensional appearance, carve the entire pumpkin. 

Exaggerate the features. (If you aren’t sure what teeth really look like or 

how the gum line works, smile and look in the mirror.) If the pumpkin is 

frowning, carve wrinkles under the mouth. To add character, carve a lot 

of “crow’s feet” lines around the eyes. Consider using the stem as the 

nose and inserts such as radishes for the eyes or cut eyeballs from the 

back of the pumpkin and hold them in place with toothpicks. 

CARVE WITH CARE 

Use two hands at all times: one to control the blade and the other to 

control the pressure with which you cut (and thus the depth). Take care 

not to jab the blade into the pumpkin; you don’t want to cut all the 

way through the rind - except to determine its depth. The thickness of 

the rind will vary, not only from pumpkin to pumpkin, but also within 

one pumpkin. To determine your pumpkin’s average depth, cut a 

core sample where you want an eye or a nostril to be. Keep that piece 

nearby as a reminder of how deep you can safely cut. 

ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS 

Pumpkins, which are actually a fruit, not a vegetable, are 90 percent 

water, so after carving they usually last only three days to a week. A 

jack-o’-lantern with a surface carving will last longer than one that 

is cut all the way through. Putting a candle or other light inside will 

shorten its life span, as the heat that results can “cook” the pumpkin 

and reduce its longevity to a matter of hours. For a bright, shiny finish, 

spray Armor All on the pumpkin and rub it in. Paint will not preserve a 

pumpkin. However, if you decide to paint your pumpkin for decoration, 

use a water-based latex paint and wait at least an hour after carving 

so that the cuts you have made in the pumpkin have a chance to dry. 

THE TOOLS 

Use a water-based marker to outline the face that you want to carve. 

First, draw a line down the center to establish symmetry. Then sketch 

the nose, the approximate center of the face. Once you’re satisfied with 

the details, trace over the lines using a permanent marker. For carving, 

basic kitchen implements, such as a paring knife or a steak knife with 

a standard - not serrated - blade that’s not going to bend, work well. 

You can also use a standard jigsaw blade. Otherwise, improvise: Use a

melon-ball cutter to make circles, for example.

OCTOBER RECIPES 

CAJUN CHICKEN AND SAUSAGE GUMBO 

You could make this on National Gumbo Day October 12 th ! 

INGREDIENTS 

1 cup vegetable oil 

1 cup all-purpose flour 

1 large onion, chopped 

1 large green bell pepper, chopped 

2 celery stalks, chopped 

1 pound andouille or smoked sausage, sliced 1/4 inch thick 

4 cloves garlic, minced 

salt and pepper to taste 

Creole seasoning to taste 

6 cups chicken broth 

1 bay leaf 

1 rotisserie chicken, boned and shredded 

DIRECTIONS 

Heat the oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. When hot, whisk in flour. 

Continue whisking until the roux has cooked to the color of chocolate 

milk, 8 to 10 minutes. Be careful not to burn the roux. If you see black 

specks in the mixture, start over. 

Stir onion, bell pepper, celery and sausage into the roux; cook 5 minutes. 

Stir in the garlic and cook another 5 minutes. Season with salt, 

pepper and Creole seasoning; blend thoroughly. Pour in the chicken 

broth and add the bay leaf. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce 

heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. 

Stir in the chicken and simmer 1 hour more. Skim off any 

foam that floats to the top during the last hour.

KOREAN CHICKEN KABOBS 

An amazing combination of sweet and spicy! And the chicken comes 

out perfectly tender and juicy with a finger-licking sticky glaze! 

Ingredients: 

1/4 cup gochujang (Korean red pepper paste) 

1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce 

2 tablespoons seasoned rice wine vinegar 

2 tablespoons light brown sugar 

1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil 

1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger 

3 cloves garlic, minced 

2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 

cut into 1-inch chunks 

1 1/2 tablespoons canola oil 

1 green onion, thinly sliced 

1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds 

Directions: 

In a medium bowl, combine gochujang, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, 

brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger and garlic. Reserve 2 tablespoons 

and set aside. 

In a gallon size Ziploc bag or large bowl, combine gochujang mixture 

and chicken; marinate for at least 2 hours to overnight, up to 8 hours, 

turning the bag occasionally. Drain the chicken from the marinade, 

discarding the marinade. 

Preheat grill to medium high heat. Thread chicken onto skewers; 

brush with canola oil. 

Add skewers to grill, and cook, turning occasionally, until the chicken 

is completely cooked through, reaching an internal temperature 

of 165 degrees F, about 10 minutes. Brush skewers with reserved 

gochujang mixture, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes. 

Serve immediately, garnished with green onion and sesame seeds. 

DOUBLE LAYER PUMPKIN CHEESECAKE

1 pinch ground cloves 

1 pinch ground nutmeg 

1/2 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed 


DIRECTIONS 

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). In a large bowl, combine 

cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Blend in eggs one at 

a time. Remove 1 cup of batter and spread into bottom of crust; set aside. 

Add pumpkin, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg to the remaining batter and 

stir gently until well blended. Carefully spread over the batter in the crust. 

Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until center is almost 

set. Allow to cool, then refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight. Cover with 

whipped topping before serving.
