Teacher Resource <strong>Manual</strong><br />

<strong>PIAR</strong> is situated on 80 beautiful acres right in the heart of Phillip Island, featuring abundant palm trees, a<br />

variety of adventure activities, swimming pools and two 4-acre lakes. It is in close proximity to many of Phillip<br />

Island’s attractions and beaches.<br />

ACCOMMODATION<br />

<strong>PIAR</strong> can accommodate 500+ people in four separate areas, giving the ability to accommodate one large<br />

group or four individual groups; <strong>Colonnades</strong> 95 guests, Silverleaves 163 guests, Woolamai 111 guests,<br />

Smiths 172 guests or a combination of the above. All areas have their own dining and function areas. This<br />

allows flexibility and availability for all size groups. The modern, spacious bedrooms are all ensuited with<br />

heating and cooling. There is a total of 72 bedrooms and 4 suites in the main site. All 72 rooms have 6 single<br />

beds in two separate sleeping areas (except rooms 26 and 27 as they are suitable for wheelchair access,<br />

and as such, only have 5 single beds). The 4 suites contain two Bedrooms with two single beds, these<br />

rooms are usually for <strong>Teachers</strong> usage only, they can sleep 4 staff in total.<br />

FACILITIES<br />

Spacious carpeted dining and recreation rooms, a Stadium/Auditorium with break-out rooms, undercover<br />

barbeque areas with ample seating, large lawned area for activities, TV, VCR, DVD, Data projectors, sound<br />

and PA systems, laundry facilities and separate <strong>Teachers</strong> Lounge areas<br />

ACTIVITIES<br />

Canoeing and Raftmaking, Single and Twin Flying Foxes, High and Low Ropes Courses, Giant Swings,<br />

various team building and initiative activities, Archery, two fully fenced in-ground swimming pools and an<br />

indoor swim spa, Tennis and Basketball courts, Volleyball courts, Table Tennis and much much more!<br />

NEARBY<br />

There are a variety of attractions within walking distance of <strong>PIAR</strong>, including; A Maze ‘n’ Things, Koala<br />

Conservation Centre and Smiths Beach which is one of the safest surf beaches on Phillip Island and is well<br />

known for its abundant rockpools.<br />

There are many other tourist and educational attractions nearby, transport will be required for many of these<br />

attractions, so why not make use of the buses being available to you in the ‘With Travel’ package that we<br />

offer and visit some of the attractions on your way to or from the campsite.<br />

Bookings are required for many of the attractions; this may be arranged with the Program Co-ordinator at<br />

Phillip Island Adventure Resort.<br />
