<strong>Alison</strong> <strong>Howell</strong> began learning to play the organ with Eric Hemery in Devon.<br />
She continued her studies with Dr. Peter Hurford at the Royal Academy of<br />
Music <strong>and</strong> graduated with BMus (LondonIn 1987 <strong>Alison</strong> gained the Fellowship<br />
of the Royal College of <strong>Organ</strong>ists <strong>and</strong> won the prestigious Coventry Cathedral<br />
Recital Award for outst<strong>and</strong>ing performance of the pieces.<br />
<strong>Alison</strong> is based in Bristol where she works as a freelance musician. <strong>Alison</strong> is<br />
currently the accompanist for the Avon <strong>and</strong> Somerset Constabulary Male<br />
Voice Choir, Cheltenham Choral Society, Redmaids’ High Junior School Choir<br />
<strong>and</strong> the University of the West of Engl<strong>and</strong> Singers <strong>and</strong> Chamber Choir. She is<br />
organist of <strong>St</strong> John the Baptist <strong>Church</strong>, Keynsham.<br />
As a recitalist she has played in many cathedrals, concert halls <strong>and</strong> churches.<br />
Recent venues have included Bath Abbey, Truro Cathedral, <strong>St</strong> <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Redcliffe</strong><br />
<strong>Church</strong>, Westminster Cathedral <strong>and</strong> the Central <strong>Free</strong>mason’s Hall.<br />
<strong>Andrew</strong> <strong>Kirk</strong> has been Director of Music at <strong>St</strong> <strong>Mary</strong> <strong>Redcliffe</strong> <strong>Church</strong>, Bristol<br />
since 2003. He has responsibility for three choirs at the church. He regularly<br />
gives recitals on the famous 4-manual Harrison <strong>and</strong> Harrison 1912 pipe organ.<br />
He has recorded an organ CD <strong>Redcliffe</strong> Restored which received a<br />
Gramophone Award. In the past few years his recitals have included Coventry,<br />
Leicester, Gloucester, Truro, Blackburn, Ll<strong>and</strong>aff Cathedrals, Tewkesbury<br />
Abbey, <strong>St</strong> <strong>Mary</strong>’s Warwick <strong>and</strong> Temple <strong>Church</strong>, London.<br />
Born <strong>and</strong> educated in Leicester, at <strong>St</strong> John’s Primary School <strong>and</strong> Leicester<br />
Grammar School, he won an <strong>Organ</strong> Scholarship to Pembroke College, Oxford<br />
where he studied organ with David Sanger. He spent 2 years in Western<br />
Australia as Assistant <strong>Organ</strong>ist at <strong>St</strong> George’s Anglican Cathedral in Perth He<br />
holds the FRCO Diploma, <strong>and</strong> gained the Turpin <strong>and</strong> Durrant prizes for organ<br />
playing.<br />
