Jaywalking<br />

When crossing Beacon Street or any <strong>of</strong> the neighboring streets, students are expected to utilize crosswalks at all<br />

times. Any student who is found in violation <strong>of</strong> this policy may be subject to the <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong> Process.<br />

Double-Parking<br />

<strong>Student</strong>s may not double-park in front <strong>of</strong> any Fisher College property at any time. In addition, students are<br />

responsible for informing their guests, deliveries, and rides/transportation regarding this policy and may be found<br />

in violation <strong>of</strong> this policy for the actions <strong>of</strong> others acting on their behalf. Any vehicle found double-parked in front<br />

<strong>of</strong> Fisher College property will be required to move. Failure to abide by this policy will result in disciplinary action.<br />

Hazing<br />

All students are required to refrain from hazing another student, and are expected to notify authorities if such an<br />

incident occurs. Massachusetts Act Prohibiting the Practice <strong>of</strong> Hazing (Chapter 269 <strong>of</strong> the General Laws) states that<br />

the crime <strong>of</strong> hazing refers to “any conduct or method <strong>of</strong> initiation into any student organization, whether on public<br />

or private property, which willfully or recklessly endangers the physical or mental health <strong>of</strong> any student or other<br />

person. Such conduct shall include whipping, beating, branding, forced calisthenics, exposure to the weather,<br />

forced consumption <strong>of</strong> any food, liquor, beverage, drug or other substance, or any other brutal treatment or<br />

forced physical activity which is likely to adversely affect the physical health or safety <strong>of</strong> any such student or other<br />

person, or which subjects such student or other person to extreme mental stress, including extended deprivation<br />

<strong>of</strong> sleep or rest or extended isolation. Notwithstanding any other provisions <strong>of</strong> this section to the contrary, consent<br />

shall not be available as a defense to any prosecution under this action.” Violation <strong>of</strong> this policy will lead to student<br />

conduct sanctions and criminal proceedings.<br />

Anti-Bullying<br />

Fisher College accepts and endorses Massachusetts Senate bill #699 “An Act Addressing Workplace Bullying,<br />

Mobbing, and Harassment, Without Regard to Protected Class Status” as proposed, and, further, accepts and<br />

endorses any and all amendments made to this bill, as well as the bill in its <strong>final</strong> form that is signed into law by the<br />

governor <strong>of</strong> the Commonwealth <strong>of</strong> Massachusetts. Fisher College prohibits conduct which the College determines<br />

is bullying or harassment as described in this policy and the law. All Fisher College students have the freedom to<br />

pursue their studies and pr<strong>of</strong>essional goals without the threat <strong>of</strong> bullying or harassment that is unlawful or a<br />

violation <strong>of</strong> Fisher College’s <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong>. Members <strong>of</strong> the Fisher College community are expected to<br />

respect all other members <strong>of</strong> the community and behave in a manner that is welcoming <strong>of</strong> others, regardless <strong>of</strong><br />

their backgrounds. All members <strong>of</strong> the College community are required to behave in a manner which<br />

demonstrates proper regard for the rights and welfare <strong>of</strong> others.<br />

Reporting Violations by <strong>Student</strong>s<br />

Complaints <strong>of</strong> bullying should be reported immediately to the Department <strong>of</strong> Public Safety or the Dean <strong>of</strong> <strong>Student</strong>s<br />

located in the College mall.<br />

Complaints will be investigated and forwarded to the <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong> Coordinator for review in a timely manner.<br />

Alleged <strong>Student</strong> conduct violations stemming from complaints will be processed in accordance with the <strong>Student</strong><br />

conduct procedures outlined in the <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conduct</strong>.<br />
