There is no student parking available at the Boston Campus. Beacon Street and the surrounding areas do have<br />
metered parking on the street. The Boston Commons Garage located at Zero Charles St is also within walking<br />
distance to the Boston campus. Resident <strong>Student</strong>s are not eligible to receive Resident Parking stickers and should<br />
not bring their cars to campus. Fisher College encourages students to utilize public transportation and <strong>of</strong>fers<br />
limited MBTA student passes during select periods <strong>of</strong> the academic year.<br />
Bicycles<br />
Parking bicycles is not permitted in hallways, stairwells, outside walkways, fire escapes or lobbies <strong>of</strong> the residence<br />
halls. Bicycles may not be kept in residence hall rooms. Bicycles found improperly parked or secured may be<br />
removed by College staff at the owner’s expense. A bicycle rack is located behind building 116.<br />
Cooking<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s living in the residence halls are encouraged to make full use <strong>of</strong> their Aramark Meal plan. <strong>Student</strong>s living in<br />
residence halls are permitted to use the microwave ovens provided in the cafeteria and kitchen areas <strong>of</strong> the<br />
building. No electrical cooking appliances are allowed on campus including personal microwaves, hot pots, George<br />
Foreman Grills, toasters, toaster ovens, c<strong>of</strong>fee machines, keurigs, popcorn poppers, water boilers etc. <strong>Student</strong>s<br />
must monitor food while cooking as setting <strong>of</strong>f the fire alarm for improper use <strong>of</strong> the microwave may be assessed<br />
any charges for damage and/or fire department response. Generally the charge begins at $500.00.<br />
Prohibited Items<br />
General Safety<br />
To safeguard the welfare <strong>of</strong> all residents, regulations exist regarding appliances allowed in rooms. In an effort to<br />
conform to health and safety standards, the following items are prohibited from the residence halls and will result<br />
in immediate confiscation:<br />
lava lamps, black lights, novelty lamps, halogen lamps, decorative string lights<br />
heating coils<br />
microwaves<br />
hot pots, water boilers, rice cookers, toasters, popcorn poppers, toaster ovens, blenders<br />
c<strong>of</strong>fee makers (including Keurig’s)<br />
George Foreman Grills or other electrical cooking equipment<br />
air conditioners and dehumidifiers<br />
candles, incense and other open flame devices<br />
wax melting devices<br />
heating blankets and pads<br />
extension cords (without surge protector)<br />
curtains, wall tapestries<br />
outside furniture including futons, ottomans, upholstered chairs & storage cubes, wooden trunks<br />
l<strong>of</strong>ts<br />
alcohol including decorative empty bottles and shot glasses<br />
illegal drugs<br />
fireworks, explosives<br />
guns, including toy guns<br />
weapons, ammunition, knives<br />
darts and dart boards<br />
