The Sun Rises in the West (9th edition, 2018) - Farid Gabteni

“Under the cover of an islam that has been distorted by ignorantists, some fanatics, corruptors of the faith, who are at ease with ignominy, commit the worst crimes against God and humanity. By distorting Islâm and all the universal, moral values, they are cultivating discord, hatred of others, violence and sectarianism. Although it is undeniable that these demonic criminals target and threaten civilisation as a whole, Muslims are the first victims of their theories and their nightmarish practices.” (Farid Gabteni) The Sun Rises in the West by Farid Gabteni is published in two volumes: Science for the Hour and Programmed Coincidence. Each of the volumes features a preface by a doctor in history and philosophy of science, the first by Doctor Fouzia Madani and the second by Doctor Ismaël Omarjee. This scientific treatise, extended to all Quranic Readings, is a pathbreaking masterpiece and constitutes a rigorous and irrefutable argument against obscurantism. It restores likewise the original Message of Islam to both Muslims and non-Muslims. Science, conscience, peace and tolerance: these are the Quran’s and of Islam’s form and content, masterly exposed by the author of the book, through an applied and demonstrative study.

THE SUN RISES IN THE WEST – SCIENCE FOR THE HOUR<br />

In <strong>the</strong> rabb<strong>in</strong>ical exegesis, <strong>the</strong> ma<strong>in</strong> feature of <strong>the</strong> Messiah is his<br />

nose (af, ‏.(אף <strong>The</strong> nose is composed of two nostrils, two canals<br />

which meet at <strong>the</strong> root. Here is located <strong>the</strong> unique, dist<strong>in</strong>ct and<br />

dist<strong>in</strong>guished Soul (nechama yehida, יחידה ‏(נשׁמה that <strong>the</strong> Messiah<br />

received from God.<br />

If <strong>the</strong> nose is <strong>the</strong> Messiah’s symbol, it is also because eyes and ears<br />

can mislead, but not <strong>the</strong> nose: what smells good does smell good,<br />

and what smells bad does smell bad. So look and listen with your<br />

nose, because your eyes and your ears often deceive you; your nose<br />

smells what is bad or what is good. If you listen, you will hear; if<br />

you watch, you will see; if you th<strong>in</strong>k, you will believe. It is not a<br />

s<strong>in</strong> to be born deaf or bl<strong>in</strong>d; it is one to rema<strong>in</strong> so.<br />

Accord<strong>in</strong>g to <strong>the</strong> rabb<strong>in</strong>ical exegesis, it is by <strong>the</strong> nose that <strong>the</strong><br />

breath of life was <strong>in</strong>sufflated to <strong>the</strong> be<strong>in</strong>g. <strong>The</strong> nose is <strong>the</strong> seat of<br />

vitality, and <strong>the</strong> root of <strong>the</strong> nose is that of <strong>the</strong> soul, to <strong>the</strong> extent that<br />

<strong>the</strong> concept of nose and that of soul merge <strong>in</strong>to one.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Gospels evoke <strong>the</strong> Holy Spirit: "As soon as Jesus was<br />

baptised, he left <strong>the</strong> water. At that moment, <strong>the</strong> heavens opened<br />

and he saw <strong>the</strong> Spirit of God descend<strong>in</strong>g like a dove and com<strong>in</strong>g<br />

on him" 1 .<br />

In <strong>the</strong> Qurân, <strong>the</strong> ally of <strong>the</strong> Messiah is also <strong>the</strong> Holy Spirit: "(...)<br />

and We Reported to Jesus son of Mary <strong>the</strong> Explicit-ones and We<br />

‏(بروح القدس l-qudus, Supported him with <strong>the</strong> Holy Spirit (birûḥi<br />

(…)" 2<br />

<strong>The</strong> Arabic language implies a relationship between <strong>the</strong> nose (anef,<br />

‏.(النَّفْس (al-nafs, and <strong>the</strong> be<strong>in</strong>g ‏(النَّفَس (al-nafas, <strong>the</strong> breath ‏,(أنف<br />

Indeed, if <strong>the</strong> mouth plays a role <strong>in</strong> breath<strong>in</strong>g, its function is above<br />

all to <strong>in</strong>gest dr<strong>in</strong>k and food, while breath<strong>in</strong>g is peculiar to <strong>the</strong> nose.<br />

<strong>The</strong> be<strong>in</strong>g (al-nafs, ‏(النَّفْس and breath<strong>in</strong>g (al-nafas, ‏(النَّفَس have <strong>the</strong><br />
