Reflecting on a past year is seemingly
done around New Year’s. For me,
reflecting took place after the RAM
event held this past September.
I sought… and prayed… and with the support
of City of Lake Charles leadership, Mayor Nic
Hunter, RAM sponsors, my leadership team,
RAM leadership, over 500 volunteers and the
community, RAM: Operation Healing and
Restoration was a success!
I would like to take a moment to thank the
team I was blessed to work with. Without the
support of the Community Host Group (CHG)
Leadership Team RAM: Operation Healing and
Restoration would not have been possible.

“Thank you cannot express the gratitude I feel toward
so many who have helped this event serve patients in
our community and the surrounding area.
Remote Area Medical, a non-profit
organization based in Tennessee and
founded by Stan Brock, who passed
away a few short weeks before our
event, supplied us with a leadership
team that guided us through set-up;
clinic days, breakdown, brought all
the equipment to host the clinic, and
provided us with data for analysis.

Chart: Total Unique Patients represent the total number of patients
seen, verified by registration forms that were turned in. Total
Encounters represent the number of patient encounters for services,
for example; if one patient registered they may have received 2-3
services. Total Value of Care is the amount of money it would have cost
for the services that the patient received.
The RAM team members tremendously blessed our patients, communities,
and volunteers! They worked with us to ensure that our 2018 RAM event
was a success and helped us to stand on the words of Stan Brock, Never
Forgetting the Mission of alleviating pain and suffering to those who
were homeless, unemployed, disabled, and to some who work hard
every day.
