A Brief Political Chronology<br />

• 31 August 1994 – Last Russian troops leave<br />

country. World War II ends for Estonia.<br />

• April-May 2004 – Estonia as well as other two Baltic<br />

States become full members of NATO and European<br />

Union. June 2004 referendum confirms by 63%<br />

Estonia’s EU membership.<br />

• 1 January 2011 – Estonia adopts Euro as its<br />

currency.<br />

• 1 July 2017 – Estonia assumes Presidency of the<br />

European Council for the first time.<br />
