2018 Arcadian Artists Trail
HANDMADE and original items will be the order of the day at this
year’s Arcadian Artist Trail to be held on Saturday November 10
and Sunday November 11 between 9am and 5pm.
Now in its 29th year,
the Artist Trail grew
from humble beginnings.
Originally a small
group of artists gathered
together to open
their studios for neighbours
and the local
community.
Today the Trail is
flourishing with over
50 creative souls and
eight studios spread
throughout Galston,
Dural, Berrilee and Fiddletown.
Visitors can enjoy
a lovely day out with
friends in a country
setting and expect
to view works such
as Fine art, Ceramics,
Jewellery, Felting,
printmaking Textiles,
Stone masonry, Studio
glass, Mosaics,
Blacksmithing, indoor
& outdoor sculpture,
woodworking, glass
blowing, Beadmaking,
Leatherwork, photography
and last but not
least a boutique winery.
Everything is handmade
and original, and
viewed within its authentic
studio environment.
The studios are raw,
varied, some small and
neat, others rambling
and chaotic, but all
fascinating spaces.
Watching the artists
at work, talking with
them, sharing their
inspiration and techniques,
is a rare opportunity.
Several venues will
have delicious food
for sale or visitors can
bring a picnic and
enjoy the grassy surrounds.
This year the Arcadian
Artists have extended
an invitation
to a cherished part of
their community to join
them.
Warrah is a local
organisation that offers
social therapy for
adults with intellectual
disability or autism.
Their art therapy has
produced stunning results,
rivalling many
able bodied artists.
The event is free to all
visitors.
The website www.
arcadianartists.com.au
includes a map of this
year’s trail, and information
about all of the
artists involved.
The Committee would
like to thank Bendigo
Bank for their ongoing
support of this event.
