ART FESTIVAL<br />
The 13th Annual Art Festival at Veasey<br />
Park, 201 Washington St, Groveland,<br />
will take place with a wine reception on<br />
Saturday, November 3rd from 6 p.m. to<br />
9 p.m. followed by an art interactive on<br />
Sunday, November 4th from 11 a.m. to<br />
3 p.m. Saturday’s event will feature art<br />
exhibits and sales by local artists, delicious<br />
hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants, live<br />
entertainments, raffles, a silent auction<br />
and a special raffle of a 3-foot Dale<br />
Rogers dog. Cost of tickets for this special<br />
raffle are $<strong>10</strong>.oo each or three tickets for<br />
$20.00. The retail cost of this sculptures<br />
dog is $1,<strong>10</strong>0.00. Early bird tickets<br />
are available for the wine reception on<br />
Saturday for $30.00 online at veseypark.<br />

at the door for $35.00. Tickets may be<br />
paid for by using PayPal. Admission is<br />
free for Sunday’s Art Interactive which<br />

by Tree Top Summer Camps, nitrogen<br />

CHICKEN SLACKS<br />
The Chicken Slacks, a 7-piece R&B band<br />
from Boston known as one of the best<br />
wedding bands in New England, will<br />
make a rare Newburyport appearance at<br />
Pennies for Poverty’s Music for Change<br />
Fundraiser on November 3rd at the Elks<br />
Lodge in Newburyport. Starting at 6:30,<br />
the evening will offer a selection of small<br />
plates catered by For the Love of Food<br />
and Drink, known for their fresh local<br />
menus and unique style. Enjoy the large<br />
silent and live auctions, a cash bar and<br />
lots of dancing and good listening. All<br />
proceeds go directly to support unmet<br />
needs of local anti-poverty organizations.<br />

SEASONAL FLU CLINIC<br />
The COA will host a seasonal Flu Clinic<br />
Wednesday Nov. 7, 9:30-11 a.m. at<br />
the Georgetown Senior Community<br />
Center. There is no pre-registration<br />
for the clinic. Priority is given to<br />
individuals 50 years and older and those<br />
with medical conditions that may put<br />
them at risk for complications of the<br />
flu. Other individuals may come to the<br />
clinic at <strong>10</strong>:30 a.m. Please bring health<br />
insurance cards to the clinic. The COA<br />
can photocopy health cards in advance of<br />
the clinic. Please wear a sleeveless or loose<br />
fitting short-sleeved shirt to the clinic.<br />
The Quadrivalent Flu vaccine is provided<br />
by the Georgetown Board of Health. The<br />

MERRIMACK VALLEY PROJECT<br />
Tackling Social Justice Issues: Merrimack<br />
Valley Project to speak on their mission,<br />
successes and challenges. On Wed. Nov.<br />
7, The Justice Action Ministry (JAM)<br />
will host leaders of the Merrimack Valley<br />
Project, a coalition of religious, labor, and<br />
community organizations that serves the<br />
residents of the Merrimack Valley Region.<br />
This First Wednesday forum will take<br />
place from 7 – 8pm in the Lower Meeting<br />
House of the FRSUU, 26 Pleasant St<br />
in Newburyport. Over the last several<br />
years, JAM has devoted its programs to<br />
social justice issues, and The Merrimack<br />
Valley Project has significant success in<br />
addressing these problems in our region.<br />
Trevor LaFauci will explain how his<br />
organization, along with its coalition of<br />
members, have worked for labor justice,<br />
affordable housing, ways to end opioid<br />
addiction, and to halt mass incarceration.<br />
He and other representatives will also<br />
speak about the Project’s Sanctuary<br />
Movement to protect immigrant rights.<br />
