A Message from our Head Girl and Head Boy
Head Girl — Liyana
Head Boy—Achcharya
Hello,
Our names are Ashcharya and Liyana and we are delighted to be your Head Boy and Head
Girl this year. We are excited to be leading and representing the school and we hope to
make this year more unique and eventful.
Recently, GIS celebrated both Diwali, the Indian festival of lights, and Halloween. Our Diwali
celebration filled GIS with both colour and candles. We were happy to see that everyone enjoyed
the delicious Indian food and the spectacular performances that took place.
The whole school took part in our Hallowe’en celebrations. With help from IB students and
staff we were able to organise a haunted house, Primary disco and other various stalls and
activities that the students all seemed to enjoy.
In the next month or so we will have some more exciting events. This term’s Parent Conference
for Year 7-11 and IB1s will be held on Thursday November 1. We hope to see many
parents attending this as the teachers’ feedback is vital for the development of the students.
One of our big celebrations next month is Loy Krathong, a traditional Thai festival, that will be
celebrated on November 22 this year. Another major event is the Secondary production of
Holes that opens on November 14. We’re sure that the current Year 11s are excited for their
IB Taster Day coming up on Wednesday November 7 where they will get to experience a day
in the life of an IB student.
