used for a number of things
such as book club gatherings,
teacher meetings, tea parties,
and other quaint events
that reflect the vibe set by
her garden. Garden of Eden
boasts a gift shop with a
number of great finds such as
incense and trinkets that can
truly set the tone with a clean
and positive ambience.
Dixson also hosts
“Rhythm and Rhymes,”
an open mic spoken
word event. “I named
it Rhythm and Rhymes
because expression is
how most people have
shared their art and
contributions with the
world,” Dixson said.
communicated to ensure that
I was getting my vision as I
saw it. I am eternally grateful
to my husband for pioneering
on this journey with me to
provide a unique shopping
experience.” It’s hard to not
hear the joy in her voice when
she talks about any aspect of
her business and what she
hopes her endeavor brings to
the community.
Mrs. Dixson takes great
pride in running her store
and wants to ensure that she
can continue to do so safely
and effectively — that starts
with the area surrounding the
space. As a retired nurse, she
displays a lot of compassion
not only for the people, but
the environment they live
their lives in. Dixson’s love for
gardening and beautification
will become a part of the city
landscape soon if she has
anything to do with it.
“When things are
beautiful, everyone feels
better,” Dixson said.
We couldn’t agree more! She
feels that the values of the
area should be reflected in the
look of the city—beautiful!
You can get all your
Donna has a special place
in her heart for children
and wants to introduce
gardening and natural living
to their lives. “Hands on
visual learning would be the
best way to educate, motivate,
and regenerate our youth,”
Donna declared. She recently
added two hens and a coop
to her garden and wants
to introduce the children
to farming and teach them
the animals’ contribution to
gardening. Her slogan, “The
Scoop on Poop in the Chicken
Coop,” resonates with her
intention to educate younger
children on how their garden
grows.
Garden of Eden is a dream
come true for Donna
who shared this vision
with her husband, Jessie
Dixson III, who helped
bring it to fruition. “He
oversaw the contractors and
Coop was donated by Mr.
