Intumescent pipe wraps for fire stopping<br />
all types of plastic pipes passing through<br />
masonry floors and walls. The wraps<br />
have been independently fire tested to<br />
EN 1366-3 and BS 476 giving a fire<br />
resistance of up to 4 hours. Tested in<br />
block, concrete and masonry walls and<br />
concrete floors. Designed to provide high<br />
volume expansion and pressure seal using<br />
an intumescent composition based on<br />
elastomeric thermoplastic polymers and<br />
binders. On exposure to fire the pipe wrap<br />
expands rapidly inwards to squeeze the<br />
collapsing plastic pipe until the aperture<br />
is completely sealed. Tested with pipes<br />
up to 200mm diameter including PVC,<br />
Polypropylene, MDPE, HDPE, HPPE and<br />
ABS types. Causes no known adverse<br />
effects to plastic pipes, plastic cables,<br />
sheathing or metallic components.<br />
<strong>Astroflame</strong> Intumescent Pipe Wraps<br />
are economical, unaffected by moisture,<br />
humidity or frost and easy to fit, but care<br />
should be taken when fitting to avoid<br />
damaging the outer polythene sleeve.<br />
The product is based on an thermoplastic<br />
composite and is non-toxic, Halogen free,<br />
contains no asbestos, ceramic, mineral<br />
fibres and is mould resistant.<br />
