COLLEGIANS LIGHT
UP THE NIGHT
NC
COMMUNITY
New Collegians and other students from UNSW left Sydney-siders and tourists in awe yet again with an
outstanding submission to this year’s Vivid: Light, Music & Ideas Festival. Jono Hribar, now a fourth year
living at New, took on the role of Project Co-Lead this year, and recruited the help of fellow Collegians
Jason Chu (2nd Year at NC) and Jeremy Low (also 4th Year at NC) as collaborators on the brilliantly lit Synergy.
Jono and the four other students from CREATE NSW Inc. (UNSW) began brainstorming ideas with
collaborators on Synergy from late July 2017 and worked on the project all the way through to installation for
the 2018 Vivid festival. Synergy represents a complex superorganism; a large tree sculpture surrounded by
and connected to similarly stylised and lit up ferns using interactive technology
