St Mary Redcliffe Church Organ Recital - November 29 2018 Richard Morgan

Richard Morgan was educated at QEH in Bristol where he first learnt
to play the organ. Following his time at QEH he read Physics at Exeter
University where he was taught the organ by Paul Morgan (no
relation) the Cathedral Organist. He was also University Organ
Scholar at The Collegiate Church of The Holy Cross and the Mother of
Him who hung thereon - Crediton - the church with the longest title
in the UK. Whilst at Crediton he accompanied the choir on live
broadcasts for both national TV & Radio.
Since his return to Bristol upon graduating he has pursued a
successful sales career - latterly within the field of Interim Financial
Management. He still plays the organ regularly and has given recitals
throughout Bristol and its environs including at the Cathedral and The
Colston Hall as well as further afield in Reading, Newbury, Sudbury
and Exeter. He also accompanies a number of choirs, amongst them,
Holy Cross on 5 overseas tours, In Ecclesia and The Ascension Singers
- both peripatetic liturgical choirs and Sudbury Choral Society on a
regular basis, as well as playing at a number of churches in Bristol,
primarily St Mary, Fishponds. A past President of the B&DOA (2007-
2008), Richard is still an active committee member.
Richard lives in Bristol with his wife Margaret and 12 year old son
William who occasionally allows his dad to play the organ without
assisting him in his choice of registration.
