Curriculum pathways
to degrees
In partnership with De Montfort University
(DMU), we are currently in the process of
designing pathways leading from our
curriculum offer onto to specific degree
programmes. DMU is the sixth-fastest growing
university in the UK, and is consistently ranked in
the top 25 universities for employability. With
an international reputation in areas including
art and design, computer science, media
technologies and the health sciences, we are
delighted to be formulating progression routes
which offer unrivalled opportunities for Sixth
Form students at King Edward VII.
For illustrative purposes, the following curriculum pathways are under discussion:
Through carefully planned programmes of
study in the Sixth Form, students will experience
a seamless transition to higher education.
Academics from DMU will visit the college to
meet students during their studies, and in the
last sixth months of their courses, will become
increasingly involved in teaching them.
Specialist resources and academic staff,
already available to students at King Edward
VII through the DMU Local programme, will
become an integral feature of curriculum
pathways.
Although still at an early stage in their
development, it is likely that curriculum
pathways will result in advantageous entry
conditions for students who are accepted onto
them.
