Hordle Community Association (HCA)
wants to thank everyone for supporting
a record turn out for this year’s Summer
Fair. As the days draw in, we invite you
to join us for a pre-Christmas two event
special. The Christmas Fair and Christmas
Tree Lights Switch-on: 8 th December,
both at the Pavilion.
The Christmas Fair starts at 1.00pm and
run until 5.00pm. The hall and marque
will be filled with stalls displaying those
special gifts for family and friends.
Following on is then the Christmas Tree
Lights Switch-on at 5.30pm ( Hordle
Pavilion and W.I.). The Tree lights will
then shine throughout the festivities
until the New Year. Father Christmas will
land to meet youngsters with gifts, and
receive letters to help him bring the right
presents in his special post bag on
Christmas Day. Complimentary mince
pies and mulled wine will be on tap,
along with tea and coffee plus a beer or
two.
Regular Events:
Film nights at the Pavilion and fortnightly
Bingo with money prizes keeps everyone
entertained. They are ever more
popular, so keep a lookout for advertised
dates. The Bar is open for all evening
events including soft drinks.
Hordle’s Saturday morning Café [9.30am
to 12.30am] has established regular
customers, as more village residents try
it out , meeting the volunteers and
sampling the tasty bacon baps & the
selection of cakes and drinks. It boasts a
welcome for all. Dog walkers like a rest
after a walk around the recreation
ground, and dogs are also welcome too
(doggy biscuits and water on tap).
Recently, Cyclists have dropped in for a
pit stop during tours in the local area –
so we’re really on the map now!
The HCA is approaching its fourth year of
stewardship of the Hordle Community
and Sports Pavilion. We are pleased to
report that villagers have responded well
by booking the hall for birthdays etc .
Also more groups are holding regular
classes, so that we can now boast 86%
capacity for bookings. The HCA hope
that the trend will continue, with more
improvements designed to welcome
even more village activities for the
Hordle Community to enjoy.
