Incumbent Worker Training<br />
In today’s economy, when workers lack needed training and<br />
businesses experience skills gap, employers ability to expand,<br />
remain competitive, and retain workers can be endangered.<br />
Nevada’s Incumbent Worker Training Program intends to provide<br />
grant funding for continuing education, training, and upskilling of<br />
incumbent employees at existing Nevada employers.<br />
ACT and <strong>OWINN</strong> Conference - Feb 19th<br />
Work Smart Nevada – Careers for a New Economy is a<br />
conference that will happen at Western Nevada College and it<br />
will feature breakout sessions on college and career readiness;<br />
successful K-12, postsecondary, and business partnerships;<br />
work-based learning; pathway programming; and preparing<br />
secondary & postsecondary students for the workforce.<br />
Work-Based Learning Internships<br />
Without experience, young adults will not be prepared<br />
for the workforce. This project aims to connect young<br />
adults to paid internships in various industries. <strong>OWINN</strong><br />
will award these monies through processes outlined by<br />
State Purchasing.<br />
Statewide Work-Based Learning Hub<br />
Expanding the number of internships and on-the-job<br />
training opportunities listed on the statewide work-based<br />
learning hub.<br />
