Delores Efthim, Patricia C. Foley, Allan Haynes, Joan Haynes, James Reardon, Patricia Reardon,<br />

Marie MacDonald and Warren Cobb.<br />

Precinct 8 – The meeting was presided over by Warden Charles Daly, duly qualified for the<br />

<strong>of</strong>fice. He was assisted by the following duly qualified Election Officers; Mary Ann Boragine,<br />

Ray Rockwood, Mary Rockwood, Clement Boragine, Dorothy Smith, Joe Betro and Joanne<br />

MacKenzie.<br />

Results determined in accordance with the provisions <strong>of</strong> law, declaration there<strong>of</strong> was made in<br />

open town meeting at the <strong>Town</strong> Clerk’s Office and were as follows:<br />

The <strong>Town</strong> Moderator, elected annually, presides over the Representative <strong>Town</strong> Meeting, which<br />

meets in May and October, as well as other Special <strong>Town</strong> Meetings, which may be called. For 35<br />

years, <strong>Walpole</strong> has had a Representative <strong>Town</strong> Meeting, which consists <strong>of</strong> 150 duly-elected<br />

members, representing the <strong>Town</strong>’s eight precincts.<br />

The duties <strong>of</strong> the Moderator are to preside and regulate over the <strong>Town</strong> Meeting, decide all<br />

questions <strong>of</strong> order, publicly declare the vote and administer the oath <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice for any town <strong>of</strong>fice<br />

or committee during the <strong>Town</strong> Meeting itself.<br />

The Moderator also appoints individuals to serve on the Finance Committee, Capital Budget<br />

Committee, Personnel Board and the Building Maintenance Advisory Committee.<br />
