Hazara Motorway to become fully
operational for traffic next month
Abbas
MANSEHRA: The
remaining 12-km underconstruction
section of
Hazara Motorway from
Shah Maqsood
Interchange to Havelian
Interchange will be opened
for traffic next month, said
the National Highway
Authority (NHA) on
Monday.
According to the NHA,
after completion of this
portion, the motorway
would become fully operational
and provide a modern
six-lane road facility to
the people of Havelian,
Abbottabad, Mansehra and

KP govt notifies members of provincial
public safety commission
PESHAWAR: The
provincial government of
Khyber Pakhtunkhwahas

'IAU' established for making capital
police corruption free: IGP
ISLAMABAD: In pursuance
of the incumbent
government's effort to root
out corruption from the
country, Islamabad Capital
Territory (ICT) police has
established an Internal
Accountability Unit (IAU)
to ensure transparency in its
internal affairs, besides
restoring public confidence
in the police.
Inspector General of
Police (IGP) Islamabad
Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar
Khan Monday resolved that
the capital police would be
made corruption free force
by advancing professional
capabilities of its personnel
and ordered to set up the
IAU, immediately, a press
release said.
In the light of these
orders, an IAU has been
established in Central Police
Office, Islamabad for which
an instant Standing Order
has also been issued.
The IAU would report to
the office of the Assistant
Inspector General (AIG) of
Police Operations,
Islamabad, while one DSP
as incharge and four inspectors
as members of the unit
would perform their duties
under direct supervision of
AIG Operations. Likewise,
one team for all four respective
zones of ICT comprising
of one inspector, one
sub-inspector and two constables
had been appointed.
The IAU had been established
at central level to
carry out internal accountability
of the ICT police. The
Primary purpose of IAU
was to deal with complaints
related to corrupt practices
within policeworking.
This unit would provide
a foresight forum for expeditious
disposal of complaints
of the citizens and
would also help restore public
confidence in police.
The main function of this
IAU was to carry out discreet/fact-finding
inquiries
into complaints about corrupt
practices, information
and news/media reporting
about corruption. The unit
would also inquire into the
allegations of misuse of

license to a member from
transgender community in a
first in the Federal capital.

practical driving test.
