Local student Elijah continues to excel in discus<br />
KEEP an eye out for track and field athlete Elijah Pallister - he may well end up singing the<br />
national anthem while collecting a medal at an Olympic Games in the not too distant future.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Year 5 student at<br />
Northcross Christian<br />
School in Ryde was recently<br />
in Melbourne,<br />
representing his school<br />
and NSW at the School<br />
Sport Australia Championships<br />
at Lakeside<br />
Stadium in the Under 12<br />
Discus event.<br />
Ten year old Elijah<br />
qualified through to<br />
the finals in Discus, for<br />
which his perfomance<br />
earned him a national<br />
number four ranking.<br />
It followed his bronze<br />
medal at this year’s<br />
NSW Primary Schools<br />
Sports Association Athletics<br />
Championships<br />
where Elijah continued<br />
his solid form in Discus<br />
with a throw of 37.65m.<br />
A versatile sporting<br />
competitor, Elijah has<br />
represented his school<br />
at both soccer (football)<br />
and table tennis and<br />
participated in the Combined<br />
Christian Sports<br />
Association’s State<br />
cross country events for<br />
the past three years.<br />
That’s not all - he also<br />
loves to squeeze in<br />
some baseball and basketball<br />
too.<br />
But more recently, he<br />
appears to have discovered<br />
an aptitude for the<br />
discus event.<br />

and placed fourth in<br />
discus at the 2017 State<br />
