Festival of Fun<br />

The Christmas season is upon us,<br />

with lights on countless homes<br />

throughout the region and official<br />

holiday trees coming aglow with<br />

elaborate public ceremonies. There<br />

are numerous other ways to celebrate<br />

as well, with several special concerts<br />

and events planned for this week.<br />

The Crown City Ringers are back<br />

at 7:30 p.m. Friday with their annual<br />

holiday handbell concert “All Is Calm,<br />

All Is Bright.” The free show features<br />

favorite holiday songs and a few<br />

surprises by the ensemble, which<br />

formed in 2014 under the auspices<br />

of the Pasadena Arts Foundation.<br />

The concert takes place at Pasadena<br />

Presbyterian Church, 585 E. Colorado<br />

Meanwhile, Little Brazil will<br />

perform its signature Brazilian sound<br />

and holiday classics from 6 to 8 p.m.<br />

Friday at the Arcadia Performing Arts<br />

Center. The Pasadena-based trio was<br />

formed by Natalia Spadini, Bruno Justi<br />

and Marcelo Buacter and revisits the<br />

defining moments of Brazilian music<br />

from a contemporary perspective.<br />

The center will also be abuzz with<br />

holiday music on Saturday, as the<br />

“Christmas with Maki” show features<br />

an enchanted evening of music<br />

featuring classically trained violinist<br />

and 12-language operatic singer Maki,<br />

along with special guests. It runs<br />

from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 to<br />
