GameChanger EA GameChanger, FootballQueeny discusses the role, FIFA 19 and the recent Capture event in Berlin How did you get into e-sports and become an EA GameChanger? I have always liked football and gaming but becoming an EA GameChanger was mostly due to my YouTube and Twitter, I think. Through building relationships with fellow YouTubers and FIFA esport players, I got far more involved with the competitive side of the game. However, I am definitely nowhere near as good as the pros at playing FIFA, unfortunately! What does it take to be an EA Game Changer? The program gives us the opportunity to voice our opinions and represent the community. Therefore, both a real interest in the game and a passion for change are vital to make the most of this chance. Tell us about the Capture Event in Berlin I was very thankful for EA’s invitation. It was a very well run, threeday long event that gave FIFA content creators the opportunity to record some early footage for their channels. On top of that, it was also great to meet and catch up with all of the other Game Changers, some of them you can see in the picture. You also got the opportunity to go to Gamescom what was the highlight of this event? The most exciting thing for me was to meet up with all of the YouTubers whose content I have been watching for years. Do you think EA did plenty of research before launching FIFA 19? I think they always do. This time around, their research also included obtaining feedback from the community FootballQueeny pictured 4th from left hand side
which makes this year’s FIFA even better. I am sure, however, that there are even greater and bigger things to come in the future. What improvements will we experience in FIFA 19? I think that the online gameplay has been improved a lot. The game seems far more fluid and less pace-based, which I prefer. Although, for example, kick-off glitches and things still pop up every now and then, EA has definitely worked on reducing their occurrence. Furthermore, I enjoy the new Divisions system: I think it makes playing FUT more exciting and rewarding. You played Pro Clubs at the Capture Event, why does the Pro Club community feel EA is ignoring them? I did and I really enjoyed it. The community feels neglected because Pro Clubs has not experienced any significant changes in the past few years, similarly to Career Mode. Personally, I believe that it has got the potential to become one of the most popular game modes if EA starts investing more time and money into its development. Competitive Pro Clubs events, for example, could prove to be very successful. Who out there produces your favourite online content? I really enjoy watching, inter alia, Spencer FC’s, AJ3’s, and GamerBrother’s content on YouTube. Who would win out of you and ItsFangs? Good question - I probably would have to back myself here but the best way to answer this would be to actually arrange a game! EWF
