the Eastwood Senior<br />

Citizens Club in a new<br />

venture which aims to<br />

provide tech assistance<br />

to seniors whilst seniors<br />

who have an innate interest<br />

in technology can<br />

spend time enjoying the<br />

environment.<br />

<strong>The</strong> venture is a new<br />

group within the club<br />

devoted to addressing<br />

a whole range of issues<br />

from problem solving to<br />

information sharing via<br />

the collective knowledge<br />

of club members.<br />

Membership of the<br />

group is open to all seniors.<br />

Q&A sessions will feature<br />

at most meetings<br />

and speakers will be<br />

sourced on a regular basis.<br />

Diamond Anniversary<br />

for Fermina and Adamo<br />

LONG time Ryde residents Fermina and Adamo<br />

Fioravanti recently celebrated their Diamond Wedding<br />

Anniversary with family and friends.<br />

<strong>The</strong> popular couple are pictured after their marriage in<br />

December 1958 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church<br />

in Randwick. <strong>The</strong>y currently reside in Frederick Street<br />

Ryde where they’ve lived for the past 55 years.<br />

Adamo emigrated to Australia in 1956 at the age of 25.<br />

He was originally from a town in Italy called Castignano<br />

which is a medieval village on the Adriatic coast in the<br />

Marche region.<br />

Fermina moved down under in 1955 at the age of 19<br />

from an island off the coast of Naples called Ischia.<br />

Adamo made a living as a carpenter / builder and did<br />

lots of work in the local community during his career<br />

including working on the construction of the carpark<br />

and bowling greens at Ryde RSL Club.<br />

Fermina has always been a home maker and enjoys<br />

playing bingo and attending the raffles at the Gladesville<br />

RSL, Club Ryde X and Ryde Eastwood Leagues Clubs.<br />

<strong>The</strong> couple have three children Marco, Violante and<br />

Ricardo, six grandchildren and a great grand child.<br />
