Step into the vacant Giraffe
houses to get this
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

sense of how tall these
incredible animals are,
and the view they have
enjoyed since 1926!
To meet their Giraffe
in person, encounters
have recommenced now
that they have settled in
to their new, temporary
home at the old Elephant
Temple near Backyard to
Bush.
Tickets for Giraffe encounters
as well as
Koala, Penguin and bird
encounters can be purchased
at the Zoo shops
and animal experience
stations from 9am and
it is recommended that
guests buy these tickets
early to avoid disappointment.
Additionally, families
can go behind the scenes
with a new Elephant experience
led by the Elephant
keepers, which
brings guests eye to
eye with the herd. This
incredible experience
is available at 2pm on
Thursdays, Fridays and
Saturdays and limited to
no more than four people
per day – book early on
the day of your visit.

Eastwood Seniors
Tech Clinic
City of Ryde Council
have generously provided
a grant to assist
the Eastwood Senior
Citizens Club in a new
venture which aims to
provide tech assistance
to seniors whilst seniors
who have an innate interest
in technology can
spend time enjoying the
environment.
The venture is a new
group within the club
devoted to addressing
a whole range of issues
from problem solving to
information sharing via
the collective knowledge
of club members.
Membership of the
group is open to all seniors.
Q&A sessions will feature
at most meetings
and speakers will be
sourced on a regular basis.
Afternoon tea is available
for all participants
and monthly special afternoon
teas will be implemented
if there is sufficient
interest.
Meeting time is 1pm
to 3pm each Tuesday

Diamond Anniversary
for Fermina and Adamo
LONG time Ryde residents Fermina and Adamo
Fioravanti recently celebrated their Diamond Wedding
Anniversary with family and friends.
The popular couple are pictured after their marriage in
December 1958 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church
in Randwick. They currently reside in Frederick Street
Ryde where they’ve lived for the past 55 years.
Adamo emigrated to Australia in 1956 at the age of 25.
He was originally from a town in Italy called Castignano
which is a medieval village on the Adriatic coast in the
Marche region.
Fermina moved down under in 1955 at the age of 19
from an island off the coast of Naples called Ischia.
Adamo made a living as a carpenter / builder and did
lots of work in the local community during his career
including working on the construction of the carpark
and bowling greens at Ryde RSL Club.
Fermina has always been a home maker and enjoys
playing bingo and attending the raffles at the Gladesville
RSL, Club Ryde X and Ryde Eastwood Leagues Clubs.
The couple have three children Marco, Violante and
Ricardo, six grandchildren and a great grand child.
Assurance Review of

The Greater Sydney Commission is
undertaking an Assurance Review of
planning in the Ryde Local Government
Area (LGA), with a particular focus on the
Macquarie Park Investigation Area and its
broader impact on the Ryde LGA.
Assurance Panel Listening Sessions will be
