to have new layout, acts

Three times will truly be
the charm for 2019’s third
annual Winnetka Music
Festival, a one-of-a-kind
music showcase that’s
receiving enthusiastic accolades
from those in the
know as the best festival
on the North Shore.
Not only will the 2019
Winnetka Music Festival
again feature talented,
nationally touring artists
from across a wide swath
of the music spectrum,
but there are exciting new
festivities in store for this
year.
Over the weekend of
June 21-22, fans from
across the country will
descend onto the streets
of Winnetka to catch this
year’s lineup of handpicked
emerging artists
who are hitting the summer
festival circuit.
“We are really excited
that the Winnetka Music
Festival has become such
a popular event across the
North Shore and an event
that people look forward
to in kicking off the summer,”
festival chairman
Scott Myers said.
While the Village of
Winnetka plays host to
this gem of a festival, last
year’s attendance of more
than 15,0000 fans exceeded
the local population by
several thousand, enhancing
its growing reputation
as a destination music festival.
Many new enhancements
are coming your
way this June. One addition
is the new festival
footprint centralizing all
four stages and activities
east of Green Bay Road
to provide an effortless
flow between stages, so
fans can maximize their
enjoyment of all festival
offerings.
The chief beneficiary
of the new layout will
be an expanded family
stage area on the pastoral
Village Green. Not only
will the family stage offer
more fun activities for
children and more space,
there will also be a myriad
of music-themed interactive
experiences for all
ages throughout the festival
grounds.
Also new this year, the
festival is offering multitiered
VIP packages with
an upgraded lounge area
tailored to those who want
a more comfortable and
relaxed listening environment.

The Winnetka Music
Festival will kick off
Friday night, June 21, at
5:30 p.m. and feature four
premiere bands. Saturday
morning, June 22, the
festival will reconvene at
9:30 a.m. for a day filled
with a plethora of music
styles across the four
stages. In addition to the
two main stages (located
on Lincoln Avenue and
in the Winnetka Community
House parking lot)
and the family stage, the
historic Winnetka Chapel
Stage will again feature
a selection of genres and
acts more suited to intimate
listening, beginning
at 1:15 p.m. Saturday.
In addition to hearing
the nation’s top emerging
artists, music fans will be
able to enjoy the sounds of
street buskers throughout
the village while they savor
craft beers, wine and
delicacies from unique
food trucks.
Though the festival is
free both Friday night and
throughout Saturday, Saturday’s
final two headliners
will be in a ticketed
location. Due to limited
capacity, and the increasing
buzz around these two
bands, it is encouraged
you purchase tickets before

The 25-plus bands in
this years line-up were
all selected by Val Haller,
Winnetka resident and
music industry veteran
(valslist.com). Haller is
one of the original WMF
creators and producer of
this year’s fest.

festival is on the radar of
artists and booking agents
across the country,” she
said. “This year’s interest
is high, and we have some
fabulous bands coming
our way. We are solidifying
our position as a
premier Emerging Artist
Festival — a showcase of
the best new talent that’s
coming on the music
scene today.”
The final 2019 slate of
performers will be announced
in February, as
artists from other noted
music festivals, such as
Bonnaroo and SXSW, are
starting to announce their
lineups now.
