From Jan. 11 The affected individual reportedly visited the cafe from 12:30-5 p.m. Anyone who was at the location at that time — and, in particular, those with weakened immune systems or those who have not been immunized against measles — may be at risk of developing measles and are advised to watch for symptoms. Police: Car burglars flee, escape after brief encounter with victim An $1,850 Sony camera, a $2,400 camera lens, a camera bag, flashcards, Apple earpods, a phone charger valued at $300 and $120 cash, reportedly were stolen from an unlocked vehicle at 18412 Pacific Coast Highway, just west of Mastro’s Ocean Club restaurant, according to a Dec. 24 police report. The alleged victim said when he returned to his vehicle, he saw a male sitting in the driver’s seat searching through his property, while a second male was standing behind the rear of the vehicle. The victim yelled to the suspects to get away from his car, and then one suspect ran and entered a black BMW 540 coupe sedan. The victim grabbed the second suspect, who was able to break away and also escape into the BMW, which headed eastbound on PCH. Dec. 24 • A $900 cellphone, a $300 pair of Oakley sunglasses, credit and debit cards, and a wallet and driver’s license reportedly were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at the beach at 18700 PCH, according to a Dec. 24 police report. The alleged victim said the theft occurred Dec. 23 when he left his vehicle to go surfing. Upon his return, he noticed his center console open and several items stolen. Yvonne Tang, a resident of Tongareva Street in Malibu, was one of the lucky ones — and she credits it all to firefighters from her local fire station, Ventura County Fire Station 56. “On Nov. 9, Captain [Dennis] O’Shea deployed a 16-truck strike team to save our entire neighborhood at Ventura County Line,” she wrote in a Jan. 5 email to the Surfside News. “The (Left to right) Tim Gonzales, Yvonne Tang, Kathryn Yarnell, Anne Merino and Capt.
