John and Abigail Adams<br />

Scholarship<br />

Sixty-four seniors at Tri-<br />

County Regional Vocational<br />

Technical High School qualified<br />

to receive the John and Abigail<br />

Adams Scholarship for their performance<br />

on the Massachusetts<br />

Comprehensive Assessment System<br />

test.<br />

The John and Abigail Adams<br />

Scholarship provides a tuition<br />

waiver for up to eight semesters<br />

of undergraduate education at<br />

a Massachusetts state college or<br />

university.<br />

The students were recognized<br />

on Monday, January 7th, during<br />

a celebratory reception in the<br />

school’s library.<br />

Recipients from the Class of<br />

<strong>2019</strong> from local towns are:<br />

<strong>Millis</strong>:<br />

The scholarship provides up<br />

to eight semesters of free tuition<br />

to full-time undergraduate students<br />

who attend a Massachusetts<br />

state college or university.<br />

The scholarship covers tuition<br />

only; fees and room and board<br />

are not included. The scholarship<br />

must be used within six years<br />

of a student’s high school graduation.<br />

To be eligible, students in the<br />

Class of <strong>2019</strong> had to achieve an<br />

Advanced score on one of the<br />

three high school state assessment<br />

tests in ELA, Mathematics<br />

or STE, and score at the Proficient<br />

level or higher on the two<br />

remaining tests. Their combined<br />

scores must also place them<br />

among the top 25-percent of<br />

students in the graduating class<br />

within their district.<br />

13 Things about Ed Carpolotti to Be<br />

Presented Saturday, Feb. 23rd, 7:30 p.m.<br />

The Theatre Group of <strong>Millis</strong><br />

will present their third free workshop<br />

play, 13 Things about Ed Carpolotti,<br />

by Barry Kleinbort, based<br />

on a play by Jeffrey Hatcher, at<br />

the <strong>Millis</strong> Public Library, 961<br />

Main Street, <strong>Millis</strong> at 7:30 p.m.,<br />

Saturday, <strong>February</strong> 23rd. Donations<br />

are kindly accepted.<br />

The one-woman play presents<br />

Virginia Carpolotti, a recent<br />

widow, who discovers that<br />

her husband Ed’s business had<br />

been failing for years. As president<br />

of his company, she finds<br />

herself on the hook for almost<br />

$2 million borrowed from a loan<br />

shark. The vultures surround<br />

her, demanding repayment immediately,<br />

when a blackmail<br />

note arrives from an anonymous<br />

villain, demanding an additional<br />

$1 million or else 13 AWFUL<br />

THINGS about her husband<br />

would be revealed to the world.<br />

The play features Christine<br />

Glynn of Framingham and is<br />

directed by Barbara Brashier<br />

of Milford. Following the play,<br />

a meet and greet will take place<br />

with the actress, director and<br />

Theatre Group of <strong>Millis</strong> staff.<br />

The play is presented by special<br />

arrangement with Dramatists<br />

Play Service, Inc., New York.<br />
