The George-Little Rock, MOC-Floyd Valley, Sheldon and Sibley-Ocheyedan school districts joined the Promise of Iowa campaign in December; Sioux Center signed on in January; and Boyden- Hull and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn joined in February. The campaign was started by the Iowa Association of School Boards in November. Bill Boer George-Little Rock School District superintendent Steve Barber said joining the campaign was an easy decision for the school board. “If you are a public school and you are not a member of Promise of Iowa, I am concerned about your priorities as a public school,” Barber said. Highlighting the benefits of public education is something that is a high priority, said the superintendents whose districts Russ Adams are participating in the campaign. “I believe good public education is the great equalizer in democracy. It provides everyone with a chance,” said Sioux Center School District superintendent Pat O’Donnell. “I am hoping we can tell our story. “I want people to understand who we are, what we do and how we do it.
