Michal’s Mailbag
Introducing a new fan feature at The Tower
Michal Dwojak, Sports Editor
We here at The Tower
have always worked hard
to provide our readers with
unique stories and experiences
they can’t get anywhere
else.
Whether it’s exclusive
coverage of the most important
Glenbrook North
games, writing about
Northbrook stories, providing
more content online,
including photo galleries
and videos, or any of
the other ways The Tower
provides readers with content
no other newspaper
does, we’re always looking
for ways to improve
and become better at what
we do.
This is why I’ll be adding
something new to the
sports section that will improve
not only the sports
section, but help readers
feel like they’re part of the
conversation as well.
It’s always been a goal
of mine to make sure The
Tower readers feel as if
this is their newspaper that
covers what they want to
know.
Reader participation has
always been a vital part of
this paper, which is why I
encourage it.
Alright, I’ve dragged
this out as long as I could.
What’s so special that I
needed to write column
about?
Well, I’m happy to introduce
what will be called
“Michal’s Mailbag.” If you
can’t tell by the name, this
will be a mailbag where
Glenbrook North sports
fans can ask me whatever
questions they have about
Spartans athletics.
Whatever you guys want
to know, I’ll try to answer
the questions. This doesn’t
even have to be limited to
current Spartans athletics,
but let’s keep it to current
sports for now (it’s fair
game to ask me who’s the
best GBN athlete of all
time or compare players,
that’s where the fun begins).
So how will readers get
questions to me? They
can reach out to me by
email at m.dwojak@22nd
centurymedia.com with
the subject line “Mailbag.”
Readers can also
tweet their questions at me
(@mdwojak94) and also
tweet back at The Tower’s
twitter (@northbrooktower)
or comment on the
mailbag post on Facebook
on The Tower’s page (@
theNorthbrookTower).
We’ll start off the few
months as this being a
monthly mailbag, where
readers will have some
time to get used to the
schedule of when these
post and I learn the tricks
of sorting through what I
hope are many questions.
Hopefully, with readers’
help, we can grow this
mailbag into a every other
week deal, or maybe a
weekly column.
We’ll see how it goes,
but I’m excited for the
possibilities that await us
in this new way of giving
Northbrook readers content
they want.
The deadline for the first
mailbag questions will be
noon on Feb. 20, so make
sure to get those questions
in there.
Happy writing.
