ROCK OUT IN MORRO BAY
Head north on Highway 1 and get a photo beside famous
Morro Rock, a state landmark, volcanic remnant and local
icon that towers at a height of 576 feet. Drive out to its base
and bring your binoculars to spy peregrine falcons, as this is
a designated bird sanctuary. (Just don’t bring your climbing
shoes: scaling Morro Rock is illegal.) If you have an extra
minute, catch the Morro Bay Skateboard Museum on the
Embarcadero, which features the history of skateboarding
since the 1930s and displays over 200 boards. >
