relax. The river canyon changes from alpine
forest to high mountain desert and sheer rock
walled canyon. Only a few trails, landing strips,
private ranches, and forest service stations offer
evidence of man’s intrusion.

Your adventure begins at the end of the road, 28 miles
from Riggins, at the Vinegar Creek boat ramp. The
tour runs from 10 am-3 pm and includes lunch and

Seven Devils Mountains tower over the river to the
east, and a high plateau rims the canyon on the
Oregon side that includes the Wallowa Mountains
and the Eagle Cap Wilderness.
