• Healthcare Educators and Practitioners: Physicians, Nurses, Respiratory Care, Emergency Medical Services
and Allied Health
• Simulation staff: Technicians, Audiovisual/Media staff
Program Overview:
The two-day conference will intersperse plenary sessions dealing with cutting-edge topics in simulation-based
healthcare training with hands-on practical workshops to provide conference attendees an opportunity to apply
key principles and improve their skills as simulation-based educators. A key focus this year will be the link
between effective debriefing strategies and learning outcomes as well as the role of emotionality in learning.
Conference Objectives:
After this conference, participants will be able to:
• Apply sound educational principles to scenario design, implementation and debriefing
• Discuss the role of emotion in the acquisition and retention of new learning
• Describe the potential impact of simulation as a change agent
• Outline the possible directions for the future of simulation in healthcare
