Program Overview:<br />
The two-day conference will <strong>in</strong>tersperse plenary sessions deal<strong>in</strong>g with cutt<strong>in</strong>g-edge topics <strong>in</strong> simulation-based<br />
healthcare tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g with hands-on practical workshops to provide conference attendees an opportunity to apply<br />
key pr<strong>in</strong>ciples and improve their skills as simulation-based educators. A key focus this year will be the l<strong>in</strong>k<br />
between effective debrief<strong>in</strong>g strategies and learn<strong>in</strong>g outcomes as well as the role of emotionality <strong>in</strong> learn<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
<strong>Conference</strong> Objectives:<br />
After this conference, participants will be able to:<br />
• Apply sound educational pr<strong>in</strong>ciples to scenario design, implementation and debrief<strong>in</strong>g<br />
• Discuss the role of emotion <strong>in</strong> the acquisition and retention of new learn<strong>in</strong>g<br />
• Describe the potential impact of simulation as a change agent<br />
• Outl<strong>in</strong>e the possible directions for the future of simulation <strong>in</strong> healthcare<br />
