He is a bit over 2 years old but so many things are new and interesting for him — and he is smart and determined! Child gates are up on the stairs and locks are on all of the cabinets because Louis has figured them all out. Louis loves everyone; all people and all dogs but especially pulls hard to meet any younger children we encounter on walks. He misses his college siblings and can’t wait for them to come home. He can also spot the mailman, Ray, and the mail truck from quite a distance. He loves the snow and races around a big winding path we made in the backyard. Glencoe, IL police reports Scammer requests iTunes gift cards in two incidents There were two reports of attempted theft by deception on Jan. 27 and 30, when an unknown offender contacted the victims requested iTunes gift cards through email. There is no reported loss at this time. In other police news: Winnetka Feb. 2 • Zaira Morales-Galvan, 26, of Des Plaines, was arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license and was also cited for speeding at 1:35 a.m. in the 1300 block of Willow Road. Her court date is Feb. 26. • An unknown offender used a victim’s personal identifiers in an attempt to open an Amazon Business American Express credit card between Jan. 28-Feb. 2. No reported loss at this time. Jan. 31 • An unknown offender used a victim’s personal identifiers to open Zales, Verizon Wireless and PayPal accounts. Attempts were also made to open Merrick Bank Corp and Sears accounts. The amount of loss exceeds $5,000. Jan. 27 • An unknown offender used a victim’s personal identifiers to open a Nordstrom credit card account without authorization between Jan. 23-27. No reported loss at this time. Jan. 23 • An unknown offender used a victim’s personal identifiers to open a FedEx account, worth $484, without authorization between Dec. 16-Jan. 23. Northfield Feb. 1 • Leron L. Harper, 24, of Chicago, was arrested Disorderly passenger, signal problems delay Winnetka morning train Megan Bernard, Editor Metra trains were temporarily stopped in Winnetka Friday, Feb. 8, while two issues arose on the tracks. While a signaling problem delayed one train, at the same time at 7:47 a.m., police presence was requested for a passenger in “mental distress,” said Meg Reilly, spokeswoman for Metra. “There was a person on board that was muttering to themselves that clearly concerned the other passengers,” she said. “The statements weren’t made toward anyone on the train, but [the passenger] was escorted off the train and was held at the Winnetka Police Department.” Metra police also responded to the scene and charged Anthony J. Mazar, 60, of Worth, with disorderly conduct. By 8:15 a.m., all Metra trains were released. for driving while license suspended at 4:24 p.m. in the 2300 block of Willow Road. His court date is Feb. 22. Jan. 30 • Guadalupe M. Rosario, 21, of Chicago, was arrested for speeding 26 mph or more over the limit (57 mph in a 30 mph zone) at 3:36 p.m. at the intersection of Willow and Sunset Ridge roads. His court date is March 8. • Daniel J. Herrera, 24, of Northbrook, was arrested speeding 26 mph or more over the limit (56 mph in a 30 mph zone) at 7:28 p.m. at the intersection of Willow and Sunset Ridge roads.
