The Weekly Times has proudly served its 

readers and advertisers in north western Sydney 

‘s TWT Territory for nearly a century and 

in 2018 we’re rolling out some improvements 

to ensure we can continue to serve you for 

another 100 years. 

TWT is expanding our online presence and we plan 

to introduce a few new bells and whistles to help keep 

the conversation flowing in the week between each 

edition of our newspaper. 

This will include a website revamp and free registration 

for improved access to our archives and digital 

editions and breaking news alerts. 

Of course, to complement that, we’ll be increasing 

our social media activity across Facebook, Twitter, 

Google+, Instagram and LinkedIn where we hope to 

hear from you. 

Stay tuned, we’ll have plenty to announce about our 

plans over the coming year.

for Mega Councils Toole were not content with announcing 

the death of Local Government on the eve of Christmas when 

Parliament was in recess but have followed up with another 

scam. 

They’re really scraping at the bottom of the barrel. How 

low can you get and still seek credibility and respect? The 

hypocrisy is mind boggling. 

How many citizens would know that Baird and co have 

arranged “public” meetings to have the final say on council 

mergers? 

The only announcement was a jumble of nondescript 

advertisements in the two daily papers and not a word to the 

local press or community. 

They’re obviously seeking an award for the best kept political 

secret of the year.

Lane Cove’s new carpark revealed 

WORK has started on a new 180 spot underground car park in Lane 

Cove and Mayor Pam Palmer (pictured) joined The Weekly Times on 

site to announce this exciting new development. This multi-million 

dollar development behind Lane Cove Plaza is being built by ADCO 

and is being called the Rosenthal Project. It will include a Coles 

Supermarket an Aldi Store and an open air performance space and 

a community park. There will be four levels of underground parking

& Fair This Saturday 

All roads lead to West Ryde this Saturday for the 25th annual West Ryde Easter Parade 

& Fair in the streets of West Ryde and in West Ryde Plaza. 

Fair opens at 9am with a record number of street 

stalls, craft, food, novelties, rides and children’s entertainments 

including a petting zoo and reptiles display. 

Grand Easter Parade kicks off from Miriam Park at 9.15am 

led by dancers and musicians of West Ryde’s Church of the 

Good Shepherd and local churches followed by school groups, 

sporting and social clubs to the official opening stage on West 

Ryde Plaza. 

Over $5,500 in prizes can be won for Best Easter Bonnets in 

the Grand Parade, Best Decorated Wheels and $2,000 cash
