summer at the Glenview<br />
Park District. It’s<br />
time for our youngest residents<br />
to try something different,<br />
make new friendships,<br />
gain a new hobby,<br />
explore the outdoors and<br />
make wonderful memories<br />
in the sun. Glenview Park<br />
District staff members provide<br />
an environment that<br />
encourages kids to step<br />
out of their comfort zone<br />
and build self-esteem in<br />
an enjoyable environment.<br />
The best summer camps<br />
provide the perfect combination<br />
of adventure, fun,<br />
friendship and safety, and<br />
it’s all right here.<br />
The Summer Camps<br />
brochure is a great place<br />
to start. We encourage<br />
parents to browse through<br />
the offerings together with<br />
their children. What sparks<br />
their interest? Which ones<br />
are they curious about?<br />
Talk about it, then sign<br />
up and get ready for an<br />
exciting experience. Day<br />
camps feature all the best<br />
of summer like swimming,<br />
sports, arts and crafts, theatre,<br />
counselor-in-training<br />
programs, theme days,<br />
outdoor games, farming<br />
and plenty of mental and<br />
physical activities.<br />
New this year is Camp<br />
Willowbrook! It’s designed<br />
for students of<br />
Glenview/Northbrook<br />
School District 30 whose<br />
classroom time ends earlier<br />
in the season and extends<br />
later into the summer<br />
due to the building<br />
of the new Maple School.<br />
Campers can also sign up<br />
for before and after care at<br />
the Northbrook Park District.<br />
We’ll have a bus to<br />
get students from Northbrook<br />
to Glenview. Summer<br />
Explorers is another<br />
Harand Camp<br />
new camp which features<br />
a longer day for ages 5-6.<br />
These campers spend the<br />
majority of their day outdoors<br />
with age appropriate<br />
activities and themes.<br />
We will be entering our<br />
second year of Summer<br />
Enrichment in partnership<br />
with Glenview School<br />
District 34. The Glenview<br />
Park District is thrilled to<br />
present these classes once<br />
again and work with so<br />
many talented teachers<br />
from District 34. It’s going<br />
to be a good time with programs<br />
like these: Create a<br />
Character, Hooked on Crochet,<br />
Math Madness, Outdoor<br />
Adventures, Tabletop<br />
Board Gaming and Higher<br />
Level Basketball Skills.<br />
Sports-minded kids<br />
have a lot of opportunities<br />
here. We offer everything<br />
from lacrosse to baseball,<br />
football, volleyball, poms,<br />
dance, tumbling, cheerleading,<br />
tennis, golf and<br />
paddle tennis.<br />
If it’s technology they’re<br />
seeking, check out these<br />
titles: Robotics & Visual<br />
Programming, Coding &<br />
Game Design and Camp<br />
Hollywood for Super Heroes.<br />
There is no shortage<br />
of classes for the Young<br />
Rembrandt. We will be<br />
teaching little artists to<br />
draw zoo animals, postersized<br />
ice cream cones, enchanted<br />
forests and dragons<br />
with pastel chalks.<br />
Sign up for half-day and<br />
full-day camps ranging in<br />
length from two to five<br />
days a week. Among our<br />
new camp offerings: Summer<br />
Explorers for ages 5-6<br />
and Center Studio Dance<br />
Camp for ages 6-13. Doors<br />
will open early this year.<br />
We’ll begin checking<br />
campers in 10 minutes<br />
before camp begins each<br />
day to allow more time for<br />
