CASTELL ROC is an internationally acclaimed Festival that takes place within the glorious and historic walls of
Chepstow Castle. The Festival is highly praised for not only it’s incredible setting, but also its relaxed and
wonderfully intimate feel that is created within its iconic walls.
Perfect for all ages, it is small (but perfectly formed), the Festival hosts a wide variety of shows during August
within a main Arena that slopes gently towards the big stage. Full theatrical lighting and a fabulous sound system
is also provided which aided by the immense walls provides superb acoustics.
Located just 15 minutes from Bristol on the Welsh Border, the Festival attracts Artiste’s that are usually reserved
for major City Centre Venues, attracted by both its wondrous setting and its enchanting atmosphere.
“it’s a perfect recipe for a Summer’s evening out”

“This Festival works
extremely hard to ‘break
the mould’ and
genuinely create
something really very
special.
It does it so well”
A brilliant and reasonably priced
bar is stocked with locally
sourced real ales and ciders as
well as lager, wines and spirits.
A variety of food Outlets are also
on hand as well hot drink stalls.

“Definitely think ‘relaxing on the well manicured lawns’,
rather than struggling through Festival mud……”

CASTELL ROC
“is an Event that is undoubtedly enjoyed by all”

CASTELL ROC “there’s surely something for everyone”
From a steamy pop concert?
to something more relaxing?

Dedicated to musical legends, “Legends Of Roc” is a chance to enjoy three
brilliant shows in one evening. Dedicated to the 'Police', 'Dire Straits' & the
mighty 'U2', this show is simply incredible value. Three top tribute shows
for the price you would usually pay to see each one.
What more can we say, grab your tickets now, while you still can.
“Police Synchronicity” brings the sheer power, excitement and unique
sound of The Police back just as the 2007 world tour did, with all the
phenomenal chart hits such as Message In A Bottle, Roxanne, Every Little
Thing She Does Is Magic, Walking On The Moon, Every Breath You Take
plus the very best of Sting’s incredible 30 year solo career.
“Police Synchronicity” combines the incredible voice of Sting, the
distinctive guitar sound of Andy Summers and the mesmerising drumming
style of Stewart Copeland to forge the remarkable sound of The Police
which sets them apart from any other band.
There will never be another group like The Police… until now…
“DS:UK” provide the magic of Dire Straits music. DS:UK are 6 super-fans
of Mark Knopfler, John Illsley, Terry Williams, Phil Palmer, Chris White,
Alan Clarke, Guy Fletcher, Chris Whitten, Pick Withers and Mark's
brother David.
Inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, their legacy leaves two
decades of timeless music for us to enjoy including the rock classics Money
for Nothing, Sultans of Swing and many more. Performed in a way that only
fans can deliver, DS:UK are the quintessential Dire Straits tribute show in
the UK today.
“U2UK” have won the hearts of U2 fans all over by performing in Europe
and beyond.
Over their sixteen year history, they have played to audiences all over the
world, from Jersey, Beirut, Romania, Portugal, Spain, Malta, Azores, Ireland,
Cyprus, Sweden, Holland, Belgium and of course all over the UK, it’s easy
to see why U2UK are Europe’s Premiere U2 Tribute Show.
Performing songs spanning four decades with some of the greatest rock
anthems ever written, U2UK recreates the most captivating moments of
the tours which have earned U2 their reputation as ‘The World’s Greatest
Rock Band’.

The Shires first played here back in 2016, with the show both selling out and going
on to be featured in the BBC documentary "The Shires: New Country", which
detailed their incredible rise to fame and how they spearheaded today's interest in
Country Music within the UK (plus footage and interviews of their impact in
another little Town, called 'Nashville'). In 2018 we were blessed with another
incredible performance.
It's not very often that you get a cohesive bond between Artistes, fans AND a
Venue however the band have publically discussed their love and appreciation
for our humble Festival with comments such as "it’s such a beautiful place. I
mean this Castle is just absolutely amazing", "definitely come to Castell Roc,
Chepstow Castle, whether you are a Band or an Artiste, or to come and watch",
"it's such a nice vibe here", "just chill out and enjoy your night, enjoy the music,
enjoy everyone else's company" and "you'll make friends here I'm sure".
Five years since they were discovered playing a gig in a Bedfordshire pub, Ben Earle and
Crissie Rhodes are now raising the bar in Nashville. Indeed, thanks to their two
gold-certified record-breaking albums, "Brave" and "My Universe", The Shires have become
one of the most talked about acts in the home of country music.
And now to the delight of their legions of fans on both sides of the Atlantic, they’ve
released their eagerly-anticipated third album "Accidentally on Purpose", recorded in
Nashville, which won over a whole new mainstream audience with its fusion with pop.
The duo are most excited by track Guilty, which they feel best sums of their new sound.
“We both like to socialise, we’re both young and enjoy having a good time and going out
with our friends,”explains Crissie. “We wanted to reflect that in our music so Guilty is
definitely a sign of a change for us. It’s the kind of song I’d play before going out.”
Perhaps the best illustration of why The Shires have become huge players in music, and not
just country, is how some of the world’s top writers want to work with them – and they
don’t come much bigger than Ed Sheeran. The global superstar provided his song ‘Stay The
Night’ for their third album after seeking out Ben and Crissie at his Nashville concert last
October, where he also got to see the latter’s drinking ability first hand.
“Crissie and I went along to an after-party Ed was hosting after his concert at the
Bridgestone Arena but she wasn’t feeling great,” explains Ben. “He told us he was familiar
with our music and we were like ‘whoa, that’s incredible’. A few hours later I was about to
leave and I saw Ed and his mates playing a drinking game with a girl who was downing beer
out of a keg while doing a handstand, everyone was cheering – it was pretty mental. Then I
did a double take and it was Crissie! Afterwards we said it would be great if we could work
together in the future and a few days later he sent us his track Stay The Night.” Crissie
added: “So basically my drinking ability got us an Ed Sheeran song!”
The Shires are also the first UK act ever to win a prestigious CMA Award, the Jeff Walker
Global Artist Award, which recognises achievements from artists outside of the US. “That
was a huge honour,” said Crissie. “Definitely the highlight of the past two years, it’s such an
amazing awards ceremony that celebrates achievements in country music.“

Ben Portsmouth -The World’s Number One Elvis Tribute Artist.
Ben, a multi talented musician, singer and songwriter had Elvis's DNA in his
blood from an early age. His father was an avid Elvis fan and Ben grew up
on a diet of Elvis songs. Having honed his musical talent Ben started his
journey as an Elvis Tribute Artist in 2005 when he formed the "Taking care
of Elvis" band. Audiences quickly realized that this was someone with a
special talent.
He looked like Elvis, sang like Elvis and had an on stage charisma that had
audiences believing at times they were watching the King himself. This
talent saw Ben rapidly rise through the ranks of Elvis Tribute Artists.
In August 2012, Ben made history when he won the Elvis Presley
Enterprises “Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, which took place in
Memphis, crowning Ben as the “Worldwide Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist”,
the only artist from outside the USA to ever win this prestigious title.
Fans from all over the world declare Ben Portsmouth as the closest they
have ever seen to Elvis Presley. Social media forums are overwhelmed with
fans demanding his return to their country.
On this night, you will see the live performance that left David Letterman at
a loss for words exclaiming, “Oh my God, Oh my God!” when Ben
headlined his show in February of 2013. Internationally renowned as one, if
not The Best Elvis Tribute in the world today, Ben Portsmouth will bring
his unique style, charisma and 10 piece band and will show audiences why
he is regarded as the best in the business.
You will be totally amazed, dare we say 'shocked'..... There is only one Elvis,
but Ben is as close as it gets!
After a massive sell-out at Castell Roc in 2017, the 2019 show will include
twice the repertoire with both an early set 'in his leathers' as well as the
later 'famous white jump suit' set.
This show also includes the brilliant Johnny Trashed, playing a terrific
upbeat homage to another legend, Johnny Cash.
