A
family with two young growing boys were looking to take
their unfinished basement and turn it into an entertainer’s
dream. They had quite the time of hitting each family member’s wish
list while still making it elegant and functional.
He desired a space that would be perfect for the sports lover with a bar,
the boys desired a space to be with their friends and play their games,
while she desired a luxurious space where she could display her wine
and still have functionality and storage.
When they first reached out to Highrock Design.Build.Remodel they
were struggling on how to make those items come together with the
layout they had. When building the house, they thought they knew the
layout of the basement but after meeting with Aaron Hochstein, owner
of Highrock Design.Build.Remodel, he showed them that moving
some of the plumbing could help give them their desired layout and hit
everyone’s wishes.
Some of the custom features the homeowners desired were a full
functioning wet bar, wine display feature and multiple areas for TVs.
Highrock Design.Build.Remodel was able to design a wet bar with a
hidden pantry to help with her desire for storage. They didn’t want just
your ordinary wine display, so they designed a custom feature with
tile that was used at the bar and LED accent lights to tie everything
together. They also put a lot of thought into tying the stone accent wall
in the rec room to the stone on the bar. They were able to finish off the
space with wood accent beams over the bar, a barn door, a gaming
area for the boys and a beautiful ¾ bathroom.
This basement is a perfect example that you can have it all! A sports
lover’s man cave but done in an elegant fashion that she loves too.
