As Air Cargo Africa wraps up Messe München<br />

gets ready for Air Cargo Europe<br />

Messe München wrapped up Air Cargo<br />

Africa 20<strong>19</strong> on a good note with some<br />

2,000 stakeholders participating in the<br />

three-day February event held in the<br />

capital of South Africa. It is now gearing<br />

up for the four-day Air Cargo Europe in<br />

Munich in June.<br />

Messe München purchased the Air<br />

Cargo India and Air Cargo Africa<br />

exhibitions from Stat Trade Times last<br />

year, and upgraded and expanded the<br />

events in line with its global portfolio of<br />

industrial, transport and logistics, and<br />

supply chain events.<br />

Some 170 exhibitors gathered at<br />

Emperors Palace in Kempton Park on<br />

February <strong>19</strong>-21 for Air Cargo Africa<br />

20<strong>19</strong>. The top visiting countries were<br />

Ethiopia, France, Germany, South<br />

Africa, St. Helena, Uganda, Ukraine and<br />

the United States of America.<br />

The event was officially opened by<br />

Mr. RK Patra, Group Editor-in-Chief of<br />

Stat Media Group and Bongiwe<br />

Mbomvu, Acting CEO, Airports<br />

Company South Africa (ACSA) and<br />

included an exhibition, a number of<br />

networking lunches, a theme dinner<br />

and a high-level conference featuring<br />

niche round tables and forums where<br />

industry experts unpacked topical<br />

themes such as 'Liberalisation and<br />

Modernisation', 'Air cargo in a digital<br />

era', 'Trade barriers and populist<br />

agendas', 'China's belt and road<br />

initiative and investments in Africa', and<br />

the future of unmanned vehicles in the<br />

air cargo industry.<br />

“Air Cargo Africa is a central hub for<br />

Africa's air cargo industry, putting them<br />

in contact with experts from across the<br />

globe. We'd like to thank partners,<br />

sponsors and our air cargo industry<br />

supporters for making this event the<br />

continent's prime air cargo industry<br />

gathering. Over three days, it facilitated<br />

successful business engagements,<br />

networking and sharing of expert<br />

knowledge by industry decisionmakers<br />

from across Africa and around<br />

the world,” said Suzette Scheepers,<br />

CEO of Messe Muenchen South Africa.<br />

Air Cargo Africa 20<strong>19</strong> was presented<br />

The next edition of the Air Cargo<br />

series is Air Cargo Europe. This<br />

international industry gathering for the<br />

global air freight industry will take<br />

place from 4 – 7 June in Munich,<br />

Germany, also organized by Messe<br />

München.
