Police Reports<br />

Two men reportedly appear passed<br />

out in car, officers discover heroin<br />

Jessie M. Mitchell, 26,<br />

of 201 Woodlawn Road<br />

in New Lenox, and Matthew<br />

Gilbert, 24, of 166<br />

Orangery Court in Carol<br />

Stream, were charged with<br />

possession of a controlled<br />

substance during a traffic<br />

incident on March 1.<br />

Police reportedly located<br />

a vehicle parked<br />

in front of a fire hydrant<br />

near the 200 block of<br />

Woodlawn Road, and it<br />

appeared as if the two<br />

males inside were passed<br />

out inside. After further<br />

investigation, police said<br />

they discovered approximately<br />

three grams of<br />

heroin, drug paraphernalia<br />

and illegally possessed<br />

prescription drugs.<br />

March 1<br />

• A New Lenox resident’s<br />

personal information reportedly<br />

was stolen and<br />

used to open a fraudulent<br />

Sprint account.<br />

Feb. 28<br />

• A person’s wallet reportedly<br />

was stolen while<br />

dining at Portillo’s, on<br />

the 2300 block of East<br />

Lincoln Highway. The<br />

stolen credit cards inside<br />

the wallet were then used<br />

to make fraudulent purchases,<br />

police said.<br />

• A New Lenox resident’s<br />

personal information reportedly<br />

was stolen and<br />

used to open a fraudulent<br />

Comcast account.<br />

• A New Lenox resident<br />

reportedly was scammed<br />

after receiving a call from<br />

someone claiming to be<br />

from the DEA. Police said<br />

the caller advised the resident<br />

that their identity had<br />

been stolen and numerous<br />

fraudulent bank accounts<br />

had been opened around<br />

the world in the resident’s<br />

name. The caller then<br />

persuaded the resident<br />

to withdraw money from<br />

their bank and purchase<br />

Google gift Cards and<br />

provide the pin numbers<br />

to clear up the matter. The<br />

resident reportedly provided<br />

pin numbers of the<br />

gift cards before realizing<br />

it was a scam.<br />

• Corey B. Howard, 18,<br />

of 3471 Huntington Terrace<br />

in Crete, reportedly<br />

was charged with theft<br />

at Walmart, on the 500<br />

block of East Lincoln<br />

Highway, where he was<br />

an employee. Walmart<br />

staff reportedly told police<br />

that Howard had<br />

stolen food on multiple<br />

occasions from the store<br />

while on duty.<br />
