OUR MISSION<br />
The <strong>Office</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Affairs</strong> advances the global vision <strong>of</strong> Texas Tech University by promot<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />
leadership, awareness, education, scholarship, and outreach for the university and the greater community.<br />
OUR VISION<br />
The <strong>Office</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Affairs</strong> will broaden the global reputation <strong>of</strong> the university by <strong>in</strong>tegrat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />
education, scholarship, and engagement with global issues, and by strengthen<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>tercultural understand<strong>in</strong>g for<br />
students, faculty, staff, and the greater community.<br />
<strong>International</strong> Enrollment Development and Outreach (IEDO) Division<br />
The <strong>International</strong> Enrollment Development and Outreach division br<strong>in</strong>gs together the <strong>International</strong> Enrollment<br />
Development, K-12 Global Education Outreach (K-12 GEO), Facilities Operations, and Community Outreach units to<br />
provide a wide variety <strong>of</strong> educational and community services.<br />
The <strong>International</strong> Enrollment Development unit supports the academic pursuits <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>ternational students by provid<strong>in</strong>g<br />
expertise <strong>in</strong> admissions, recruitment, and sponsored student services.<br />
The K-12 Global Education Outreach (GEO), Facility Operations, and Community Outreach units serve as a liaison for<br />
the university to provide cultural enrichment opportunities. K-12 GEO <strong>of</strong>fers cultural programm<strong>in</strong>g to K-12 students<br />
from public, private, and home schools throughout the South Pla<strong>in</strong>s. Facilities Operations provides room rental to both<br />
TTU and community groups across the region, and the Outreach unit hosts large <strong>in</strong>ternationally-themed cultural events<br />
to engage the campus and local communities.<br />
<strong>International</strong> Research and Development (IRD) Division<br />
The <strong>International</strong> Research and Development division facilitates the development <strong>of</strong> multi-<strong>in</strong>vestigator,<br />
multidiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary <strong>in</strong>ternational research and development programs at Texas Tech University. Through the services <strong>of</strong><br />
the <strong>International</strong> Center for Arid and Semiarid Land Studies (ICASALS), IRD promotes the university’s special mission<br />
<strong>of</strong> the <strong>in</strong>terdiscipl<strong>in</strong>ary study <strong>of</strong> arid and semiarid environments and the human relationship to these environments<br />
from an <strong>in</strong>ternational perspective.<br />
